I'm very glad -- seriously -- to see a Trump supporter saying this.

What we usually get are abject denials of character flaws, bizarre notions that he is a brilliant, honest, God-fearing patriot, and even that God sent him to save us from Satan. People who hold those beliefs are simply gone, and in their own world. There is no way to communicate with that.

I've had a couple of MAGAs tell me, in real life, something like this: "Yes, he's a clown, a con man and an embarrassment, he has zero character and he clearly has some mental issues. But America has gone so far off track that I have to overlook all of that, because he's -- for whatever reason -- willing to do what I think needs to be done".

Y'know, I can respect that. I can at least see that. It's free of cultism and delusion, and is pretty clear. I even agree to some degree on many of the issues. But this mass delusion is just too much for me, and he is showing clear signs of an authoritarianism that has far too many historical parallels.
