Inner City violence is no longer newsworthy. We've gone through and to great lengths to make guns cheap, affordable, and readily available. This is the price society pays when it lives under 230 y/o laws and don't adjust them to 21st century reality.

Why, Luddly? Why is it just accepted? Why is it less worse than the other? Even before any officers were shot, it was national headline news. Was it because the potential ,of more harm was greater? Even the 3 killed in Colorado Springs on Oct. 31, made headline news. Yet these, will be but a blip on the screen.

Because…folks…normal gun owners are not sociopathic killers……they do not want to shoot anyone and want to go about their day unmolested by criminals…so, as the research actually shows….most defensive gun uses only require an individual showing the weapon….then the criminal breaks off the attack and runs away. Then you have the next outcome…the victim shows the weapon and the criminal surrenders and they wait for the police…..then if the idiot criminal is really stupid, they press the attack and get shot and wounded, but not killed………and finally, the least likely use of a gun for self defense, the moron criminal has to be killed to save the life of the gun owner or another innocent person.

And much of the time you don't have anyone shot, no bullets fired, and no injuries….because most criminals don't want to be shot when they can run away and find another victim who doesn't have a gun…..

The lives of those killed and injured are of importance, too. All 8 were within 24 hours. Three separate incidence involved someone exiting a dark/black sedan and firing on others in different places. Another involved someone exiting a white sedan.

Why is this allowed to go on? Why aren't all resources used to help weed this poison out? Why is it not a national conversation? Is it simply because of race? And if so, what does that say about our/their leaders, representatives? Ir has been happening for years and only getting worse.

Do remember that gun laws have not solved it. This is do e by illegally acquired guns. No amount of laws will prevent the bad guys from getting them. Only the vunerable, law abiding can't get them.

Because by and large people do not give a fuck. At all. It requires getting into the details beyond gun rights and people don't want to do that.

It also requires funding. People don't want to do that shit either. It also requires prison time. People don't want to do that shit either.

It's a little more complicated than just saying there goes all of that funding. Real estate is a factor, cutting down or not funding a police presence in a certain area is a factor (Cabrini-Green), elections are a factor, city planning is a factor and then, if you manage to get everyone on the same page with a game plan, elections and appointments with different agendas can completely destroy the original game plan and institute their own. You have to really, really give a damn.

For example:
If its a news story he'll ask "Why isnt this national?"
If its a national story he'll ask "Why isnt this protested?"

I understand why the Colorado Springs shooting is a tragedy, but my question is, why is this not? Why is it of the attitude, it is just Chicago.
The lives of those killed and injured are of importance, too. All 8 were within 24 hours. Three separate incidence involved someone exiting a dark/black sedan and firing on others in different places. Another involved someone exiting a white sedan.
.Why is this just accepted, and doesn't deserve the attention of federal authorities, as did the Colorado Springs incident?

These are the facts--that he expects you to believe that 23,000,000+ violent crimes were stopped by gun owners-- and they are not in dispute. You'll see 2-3 posts after this to obscure the facts above but you won't see a denial.

This is what you're being asked to believe. Basically this boob wants you to believe that the equivalent of the population of greater New York City including the burbs in CT, NJ, and NY State actively stopped a "violent crime" using a gun. And keep in mind, the number WAS almost double before he cooked up the latest fantasy.

Yet, if you're like most people, you know nobody who ever did such a thing and know of no one who knows of anybody who has.. Just apply the smell test.

I guess you missed where Clinton you Know President Billy "we all love him" democratic Clinton had a study done and it said 1,5 million. Not the NRA, not some independent researcher, but the Governments OWN study. I might add the study was instigated to prove the opposite and to attack firearms owners. Instead it JUSTIFIED carrying firearms as they save lives.

Just out of curiosity do you honestly feel that 5,000 times a day someone really stops a "violent crime" with a gun? I know you'll say yes without hesitation or any sort of subjective or objective evidence because politically it behooves you to do so and intellectual dishonesty is the calling card of conservatives but I figured I'd ask anyway and see if you're actually capable of honesty.

This false cliché just won't die. It is a worthless statement. If this is true then there is no reason for any law, because according to you and every other gun licker bad guys do what they want anyway.

How long will you keep repeating this false premise?

Why are there laws against owning dynamite.
Why are there laws against owning fully auto machine guns.
Why are there laws against owning a tank.

All of these things are legal to own.

Laws DO keep bad guys from getting their hands on most things by keeping these things scarce.

Funny how as soon as someone shoots up a school, the knee-jerk anti-gun loon reaction is to talk abut the necessity of laws that would not have stopped the shooter in question.

A lot tougher with guns because the NRA and gun lobby has spent every waking hour making sure the entire country is flooded with guns, guns, guns, guns.
