Was this about your mom being a teacher? Teachers go along with the socialistic puke-crap bolus being tube fed our children at school. Esteem based education? Tests aren't fair? How can we have standards when IT'S ALL THE PARENTS FAULT? How can we have standards when WE NEED MORE MONEY/ SMALLER CLASSES/ STRICTER STANDARDS TO KEEP OTHERS OUT OF "LA COSA NOSTRA?"? It's the same litany of excuses. Students need to be separated according to ablity and behavior problem cannot be tolerate. A zero tolerance policy on bullshit. India is like an engineer factor. So is china. Liberal arts degrees are strictly for stupid people and women who just want to get married after college.

We're the U.S. We should have the best school system on earth. Yet it's crap. WHY? WHO convinced us to dumb it down?

Look no further than the parents for that one. You think teachers are the ones who asked to be neutered in the class? Teachers have no recourse against students that refuse to work and do nothing but disturb those around them. No, it was the parents who can't believe that Little Johnny could possibly be too lazy to put in the work to pass 6th grade. Little Johnny couldn't possibly have cheated because Little Johnny is an angel. You talk about zero tolerance policy and I agree, and so do all the teachers I know, including my wife!

Please note that I'm not talking about all parents or even all teachers, that would be a stupid generalization. However, the noisy parents are the one that have pushed school boards into the situation they find themselves in now. Most teachers would love to go back to a time when they could say "sit down, be quiet, OR ELSE" and actually have an "or else" as a consequence for not sitting down and not being quiet.
