Why focus on the AR-15 rifle when we discuss shootings in schools?

There is a focus on the AR-15 rifle when it comes to school shootings. Why? Ignorance of the phenomena of school shootings, that's why. Also, the anti gunners know that if they can ban the AR-15 rifle they can come back and demand banning all other semi automatic weapons, including rifles, pistols and shotguns, including revolvers, since they all operate the same way as the AR-15 rifle...they are all semi automatic weapons. This is why the anti gunners are now no longer calling for "Assault Rifle" bans, but have moved on to calling for bans on semi automatic weapons...you saw this at the CNN Town Hall after Parkland.

The fact is.....pistols and shotguns have killed more students than AR-15 rifles....which was brought to my attention by the recent mass shooting in Crimea...a country with extreme gun control laws.....

I believe that these "copycats" was only an addition to the Columbine School shooting in Columbine, CO on April 20, 1999. Eric David Harris and Dylan Bennet Klebold.

Dylan -- Intratec TEC-DC9 (9-mm semi-automatic handgun) attached to a strap slung over his shoulder (under coat), Savage 311-D 12-gauge double-barrel shotgun (barrel sawed down to approximately 23 inches, initially half-hidden in Dylan's cargos).

Eric -- 10-shot Hi-Point model 995 carbine rifle on a strap (under coat), Savage-Springfield 67H 12-gauge pump shotgun he called 'Arlene' (named after a Doom character - initially in one of the duffels carried to the top of the grassy knoll -- stock and barrel sawed off, reducing the entire gun to 26 inches).

The sawed-off weapons, each around 30 years old, were so short that firing repeatedly from them caused the hands of the gunmen to bleed when fired on the practice range initially. The teens apparently acclimatized to the weapons over the months preceding the shootings. Both shooters also carried several knives. They named their pipe bombs. Four bombs are mentioned on Eric's website, along with their specs. 'Vengeance' (pictured at bottom) and 'Atlanta' were found at the Klebold residence when police searched it.

Funny thing, I have never shot up a school with one nor have I ever committed a crime with one.

I also know scores and scores of people that own ARs and have never committed a crime with one.

Banning AR-15s will not change a damn thing with crime. Very few of them are ever used in a crime and if they were banned it would not stop a single criminal from using one.

However, it does polarize millions of voters. For instance, that idiot Beto in Texas lost any chance he had to beat Cruz when he declared he want the ARs banned.

The Democrats should have learned form Crooked Hillary's failure that being anti right to keep and bear arms is a losing agenda.

Most of the left wing anti 2nd Amendment "experts" couldn't tell you the difference between an automatic weapon or a semi auto or single action and double action or what makes an "assault weapon". It doesn't matter to them because they are fueled by politics and emotion. Nobody wanted to talk about the fact that the Columbine shooters may have been doped up for years on personality altering drugs authorized by the teachers union or that the Va Tech professors knew that the Va. Tech shooter was a maniac and refused to be alone with him or that the local police disregarded credible allegations that they were being stalked by this guy before he murdered 30 people. Nobody seems to want to talk about the fact that the Vegas shooter was most likely motivated by hatred for Trump supporters when he opened fire on a "country concert" that the liberal media characterized as a "Trump rally". If the media was honest and focused on facts instead of emotion it would be the end of the democrat party.
