What to Know About Ruger’s AR-10, Weapon Recovered in the Lewiston Mass Shootings

Last night, law enforcement officials confirmed that the gunman in Lewiston, Maine, likely used a Ruger SFAR, an AR-10 that fires a .308 caliber cartridge, even more powerful than the AR-15.'

Apparently, the Lewiston ME shooter used an AR-10, not an AR-15.
This means he was shooting 7.62x51, and explains why, in proportion to the average mas shooting with an AR15, so many more people were killed.

For a moment, I thought the anti-gun loons would realize all their prattle about the obscene power of 5.56x45 was ignorant nonsense.
Instead, they double down.

What we know about the weapon: The rifle was a Ruger SFAR, chambered for high-powered .308 ammunition, the sources said.
The .308 round is favored by military snipers firing at long distances and big game hunters. It's larger and more powerful than the regular ammunition carried in the rifles of soldiers and SWAT teams.

Silly me.
