umm... The desire is an islamic Caliphate throughout the entire middle east and beyond not just" the Levant" So why insist on being the only one to use that term? Which means: the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham.

In the english language the last word "al-Sham" is translated as "Levant"

(al-Sham/Levant basically means the collective lands of Lebanon, Israel, Syria, Jordan)


The media used the acronym ISIS .......but incorrectly stated the last letter stood for Syria. (when it actually stood for al-Sham)

Hence the confusion by the public.

For the still confused, the correct use in english would be ISIL
