Why Are My Tax Dollars Going To Support Pbs

I really do miss 'Firing Line'.

Firing Line - Wikipedia the free encyclopedia

Maybe the intellectual left could be introspective enough to support dissenting opinions.

They did in the 60's.

.

Wm F Buckley was a bloviator of the highest order, but he was also brilliant and thoughtful. Guys like Rose and Moyers are just morons who act earnest and heady as a way to attempt to disguise their intellectual shortcomings.

It's about 175 million fer chrissake. Why? Because you're a cheap POS hater dupe. PBS is a lifesaver. Great dramas and documentaries...if the dupes would watch instead of America's Got Talent etc, they might have a brain. Stupid chumps miss out on PBS, Chevy Volts, Teslas, Solar houses just because they know that's commie. So gd dumb...

Moyers is a moron and Rose is a corpse that has yet to fully decompose. Both irrelevant.
While I disagree with your assessment of those two both are sources of opinions and factual information which is not available from the mainstream media. You don't need to agree with them but it's good to listen, compare, and weigh.

Aside from Moyers and Rose, PBS presents some of the most sophisticated and first-class quality entertainment available available from any source -- including cable providers. Most of it is from the BBC, including Upstairs/Downstairs, Downton Abbey, Gosford Park, Parade's End, Foyle's War, and more.

PBS is a good thing. I'm pleased to support it.

Why should our tax dollars go towards Rush Limbaugh being broadcast on the military radio network overseas and on ships? He's the most visceral radio host around...?

"Most visceral...."

So it's somehow Rush's fault that all the liberals who have tried and failed at talk radio are wimps who even the most dedicated give up on after a few minutes listening?

Really?

Really?

I used to listen to Rush, many years ago 1990-91 when he sounded like The Duck Book and would attack both sides, but then he slid into the dark creavace of being one sided...

Bill Moyer's Journal, Charlie Rose, and Gwen Iffel, are all rabid left wing nuts. Why are my tax dollars going to support their biased diatribe very single week? Wonder what left would say if Rush Limbaugh got taxpayer subsided air time on PBS?

EXACTLY how much does PBS cost each of us?

I mean, how upset should I be?

At least a buck and a half...

Who funds C-Span?

I catch "Washington Journal" on occasion. They take calls from people who identify themselves as Democrat or Republican or Independent.

Every so often, a Republican will get on the line and bitch about how C-Span's host favors the Democrats.

According to a national survey recently commissioned by PBS and undertaken by the bipartisan polling firms of Hart Research and American Viewpoint, 69% of voters oppose congressional elimination of government funding for public broadcasting. Over half of all voters say it would be a massive or significant loss for themselves and their family if Congress, voting to eliminate funding, forced PBS to eliminate some programming and jeopardized some PBS television stations. The survey also shows that six in ten voters believe this would be a massive or significant loss for the country as a whole.

"Trusted window to the world".

All these leftist responses and not a single actual answer.

You mean like subsidies are only about 20% of PBS' budget and the fact that there are commercials? I guess we were taking it easy on the OP in light of his obvious mental disabilities.
Again , read my post, what are ANY of my tax dollars going to support socialist network

Poll was commissioned by PBS! What finding did you think they would come to?:bsflag:
A recent poll of men on death row found that 100% are opposed to death penalty.

What's amusing is that the libbies can't read the credits on so many PBS programs. Credits where they cite contributions by various KOCH family members. Which, every good liberal knows, means what follows is propaganda that must be turned off and the chillin's protected against seeing.

Or is it just that don't give a rat's ass so long as it's free?
