Why Are Conservatives So Resentful Of Americans With Good Jobs?

An example of this is a conservative poster who goes by the name of carol.

get this she starts out with this bit of nasty myth: "union thug crap"

then she puts in the bullcrap: "I have nothing against the average person that is in a union job...everyone needs a job!"

and here is where the meat in her resentment exposes itself "Some (actually a lot) of people have their lives wrapped up so tight into their unions that they can't see beyond their nose. They think that companies are obligated to give them everything they want, not necessarily what they need.

Sounds just like the red meat Mitt Romney threw out to Super Wealthy fools who hate "average" people who need a job. Whether Super Wealthy or more average, conservatives despise the 'average' person who needs a job yet wants more.

Having a good paying job and being a paid thug is two different things.

i belong to a Union.....i dont remember mugging anyone.....

Let resentment and anger reign

It doesn't take much bait for conservative wingnuts with hate, anger, and resentment in their hearts for other Americans, to become unhinged. Look at the responses here and ask yourself if what you see now -- naked expressions of true feelings -- explains why these people had NO trouble with Romney's 47% remarks

thank you for playing

:eusa_hand:
What I see here is your naked hatred for people who view the world differently than you do.

So, please stop it. The word 'naked' and you should never be in the same forum, let alone a thread.

If you require union representation to make your job palatable, then you have a shit job with a shit employer and shit for brains.

the Fed-x Driver on my route says that a LOT of his fellow Drivers would like to see a Union in Fed-x.....just because Fed-x has fired GOOD Drivers with 15+ years for some pretty petty reasons......they dont even give a warning first.....unfortunately not too many companies treat their employees with some decent respect.....they expect you to show loyalty to them, but they dont need to do likewise......hence Unions.......

Well, the guy has two options - remove the shit from his brain and get a not shit job with a not shit employer; or stay in a shit job with a shit employer and continue to have shit for brains while hoping a union saves his ass.

Ever been on strike and union members find out the home address of a few non union members who cross the picket line?
Don't they get threaten for doing that?

The most disgusting thing about a Union is that they take dues from all members, Republican and Democrat and all the rest, and then donate it to (generally) the Democratic party. That's unfuckingreal imo.

Unions give money to support politicians that -- gulp -- support Unions.

Damn, that's dastardly!

:cuckoo:

The money is taken from union members by force. That is the very definition of a hold-up.

only if your forced to join the Union.....

making what he makes doing what he does does not seem like a shit job......and how many times in these threads about Unions have i seen the Anti-Union people site Fed-X as being one of those wonderful non-union places to work.....like i said......if companies were fair to their workers and treated them with respect.....there may not be a need for Unions.....until then.....

dont know.....not allowed to strike.....but you did not differentiate before.....you just said "paid thug".....which i assumed was the Union Guy.....maybe i should have asked you to explain what you meant by "Paid Thug"......sorry....but yea that has happened, even back in the days when Unions were liked....

You're not allowed too strike? what good is your union?
Anyway those unions that go on strike have been known to do that.
I had to cross a picket line for a few months back in 88 when I was managing air port screener's at the Greensboro international Air Port. on the Continental jet way when Piedmont was on strike. I had exchanged a few words with some of the strikers I didn't back down

There are companies fair to their workers.....i work for one. If they got rid of the union in the factory, there would be nothing different for the workers! But i also realize not ALL companies are this way. Today tho...any company that wants to make it knows they have to be fair to the workers or they won't make it. It's only the companies that are fair that actually make it, their workers are happy. In other words...there ARE companies out there that want to have happy workers....if you don't work for one, you need to look around :)

They believe Romney will bring 12 million jobs. The question is, without education, science, technology or infrastructure investment, what kind of jobs will those be?

The answer, of course, is it was just another Romney lie to a Republican base Santorum said has no smart people.

all conservatives feel this way?

Can we have a linked study?

Why are liberals so resentful of those with wealth?

Nother wingnut dufus!!!!

Liberals loved JFK, Ted Kennedy, Howard Dean, John Kerry, Wealthy liberal donors.....

gawd, you are an idiot

John and Ted (both rest in peace) were children of a crook who did not die in prison like his fellow alcohol smuggler Al Capone, only because he never got caught.

John Kerry is a pathetic gigolo.

Dean Howard is just a screeching idiot.

Are you REALLY so brainwashed, Deanie...that you don't understand that it's the Private Sector that creates jobs and always has?

Those jobs are out there right now...we just need someone in the Oval Office that doesn't think the Private Sector is the "enemy"...someone who puts jobs before ideology.

So the jobs are here and waiting but not until we elect someone industry wants elected?

You're basically repeating my contention throughout this entire thread. Dante says Union jobs are "good" jobs. I am saying a Union job is inherently not as good as a simliar non-union job because of the fact the Union influence is necessary to address a sub par situation. If a Union job was a good job, the Union would not be necessary.

I have already admitted several times that one of the reasons employees find Unions necessary is because of shit employers. Just because someone cites an employer as "good" does not mean that is actually the case. I have never dealt with Fed-Ex in an employer/employee situation so I have no basis for saying one way or the other. But if your friend thinks his employer is shit and needs Union representation to resolve the issue, that just lends credence to my argument that Union jobs are by definition not "good" jobs in relation to similar non-Union situations.

When I was young I got a factory job, that forced me to be in the union. For the first four months of my employment the union collected my dues, but offered no help, should I need it.

After four months, I applied for a job within the company that would give me training for a future managerial position and free me from the union.

Let me add, that at this point in my life I spoke halting, broken and heavily accented English, being an immigrant. However I had pride and confidence in my own ability to speak and fend for myself without the "help" of some thug.

Thirty-seven years later I retired from my last position as a highly respected and successful computer programmer.

Along the way I used my factory floor experience to work thru strikes, being called a scab, and having my tires slashed.

Unions are for people who are, by nature, free-loaders and who think that putting a screw in its hole every 15 minutes or spewing socialist nonsense to innocent kids in school is worth a pension amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Unions never gave a job to anyone, except their leaders and the staff that populate their lavish offices and the pilots who fly the union leaders' private jets. The only wealth unions create is the wealth of their executives and the undeserved pension of habitual sloths.

47% of the population will not vote for one candidate. If Obama wins, it is for sure that 47% voted for Romney. If Romney wins, 47% of the population will have voted for Obama.

Romney was HONEST enough to realize this, although, perhaps, not wise enough to vocalize it.

Obama, not surprisingly, lacks the integrity and honesty to do the same.

Federal Workers are not allowed to strike......our Contract is just extended until a new one is worked out.....it usually goes into binding arbitration like it is right now.....ours was up last Nov......Striking doesnt help either side.....UPS found that out....
