Where does Mac1958 actually stand on the issues?

Well, I just laid out my positions on the issues and my priorities. Again. They're right there.

You're free to think whatever you want. We both know this is ONLY about my opinion of Trumpism. Your messiah is all that matters to you.

Too bad.
Again, you're not fooling anyone, kid.
Post a laughing emoji if this truth makes you uncomfortable.

Get the money out of politics and hamstring the politicians:
  1. Short, strict term limits
For whom? We already have two year terms for Representatives. Six years for Senators is fine. Four year terms for Presidents (limited to two terms). Everything else is up to the voters.

2. Publicly-funded elections
What difference would that make?

Bipartisan redistricting commissions
Might be helpful.

4. Ranked choice voting
A very bad idea. But the subject of other threads already.

5. Non-partisan primaries
Another terrible idea. I don’t want a bunch of liberal Democratics having any say in which person gets the GOP nomination in any race. And, conversely, I would enjoy picking my own opponent but the Democratics might not like my say in their nominations.

Make those changes, or most of them, and you change motivations, incentives and behaviors damn near overnight.
Some have some value, as I noted. But some are just awful.

It is going to be difficult to achieve, but each Party should be reigned in by its own constituents.

Yes, Guns. I can't get past "if guns are outlawed, only outlaws would have guns". I agree with that point.

And I don't think a few more requirements on background checks are the end of the world. Give and take.

Here's the reality: You guys clearly think that anyone who says Trump is a con man must be a commie. You're wrong. You're not paying attention.

That's on you, not me.

No, I think they are a hypocrite because their own pols have been selling a bill of garbage for decades, it's just a flavor they can stomach.

In case you haven't noticed, "Trumpism" isn't what's destroying the country these days. How would this Forward Party address issues like these, and why are you so hesitant to criticize what the Democrats are doing? while leaving an American Marine in a Russian prison

• North Korea continuing to expand their nuclear enrichment and missile programs

• A stronger Iran increasing their funding for Hamas and Hezbollah

• China became more energy and militarily dominant

• A senile, angry, and incompetent president who fell off of a bicycle, fell up stairs, insulted
half the people in America, labeled people as "terrorists", divided the country, and tried to incite
a civil war.

My bias is specifically against the sociological/cultural phenomenon that is Trumpism. And I've said, a thousand times, that it's not about Trump.

Before that, my crusade was against the Left's PC/Identity Politics bullshit. You could utilize the search engine here, enter "Regressive Left" and my name, and you'll see.

I have no use for either fucked up party, and more than anything else I'm anti-ideology.

I've said all of that, many times.

But you seem to hold Trump and the right to a higher standard, or at least you give the left more of a pass because you relate to them ideologically.

I think that Trumpism represents, literally, a broad and deep sociological/cultural crisis that has us on the edge of seeing our institutions crumble.

As little as I think of the Left and its positions on the issues, this is a bigger danger, right now, at this moment. That's my perspective. It doesn't make me evil or a "commie".

That's the institution's fault, not Trump. They decided to go in against an elected President and subvert anything he tried to do. Now they continue it with a baseless political prosecution.

And what the people angry at this get in response is "shut up, dupes". Not a way to win an argument or win over anyone to your views.

Thinking the right can do worse to the country than the left can makes you naive. It's the blind spot created by your belief in the end results wanted by the left but quibbling over the methods.

The methods are the whole problem.

For the life of me, I don't know how Republicans think that acting like petulant, ignorant middle school bullies is a smart strategy for long term success.

We learned it from watching the left.

We just seem to be more threatening for some reason. Oh I know the reason, on your side the women can be more masculine than the men.

These are breathtakingly illogical statements that are completely contradicted by actual occurrences.

1. What sociological/cultural crises occurred during Trump's presidency?
2. If any, were they greater than what has occurred under Biden's presidency?
3. How would Trump's second term as President represent a "bigger danger" than his first term?
4. Your "perspective" has been well documented.
5. It doesn't make you evil or a "commie" but it does make you illogical and naive.

If you wish to dispute these statements, please respond by the number.

In a binary political system you either relate more to one side or the other. To deny that is to deny the system as it stands.

This isn't a parliamentary system with coalitions and such, it's Dems or Reps for now and unless the system is changed that's how it's going to be.

My "side" is against the two whacked-out ends. THAT'S my side. And I'm sure as hell not alone.

I've been patient, and I've explained everything. Thanks for the thread.

And I've stated before, even if you stand in the middle of the road, you have to lean towards one side of it.

Correct. The Forward Party is about how to address the issues. Fixing the system to stop motivating and rewarding the worst instincts of its participants.

I'm 100% for that.
The Forward Party is really a figment of your imagination. It does not exist outside your fantasy except for 6 states where they have conned people in signing up to support their idiocy.
