What would it take for you to abandon your political party?

damn we are like clones.

I could have said this all myself.

My one non dem vote was for Anderson.

I opporate my fiscal life just like your family.

I did not know you were male though, I for some reason thought you were a chick like me.

Oh well great post.

We know. But it's really funny that you've only just discovered that you're all borgs.

So that means you think people who are fiscally responsible in their own lives are mindless?

No, you're all just mindless borg.

I didn't abandon the Dems, the Dems abandoned me ( they abandoned 1/3 of their party - the conservative Dems).
Now they did it to the moderate part of their party in the last two years, (another 1/3) That only leaves the libs in the party
Where are Moderate & Conservative Dems suppose to go?

The Dark Side.... I'm told they have cookies. :eusa_angel:

You were in the wrong party to begin with from what Ive seen of your posts.

Nothing. I don't belong to a political party.

Because your team messed up everything and we had to fix it Dr D

Had to fix it, that's interesting wording, meaning you think the current democrats have already fixed everything the republicans messed up. You'd think they would've done better in their last elections had your twisted view of reality actually been true.

So in other words you're a fiscal conservative who doesn't like debt, so if your current group of democrats act fiscally liberal and rack up more debt will you abandon the party?

Good question; not an easy one to answer.

Since I've always had empathy for the underdog I have been a registered Democrat since I first voted in the presidential election in 1968. I have voted for the Democratic nominee in all presidential elections but for 1980. That year, knowing Carter was cooked, I voted for John Anderson (a Republican turned independent).

In my life I'm a fiscal conservative; I don't spend more than I earn and paid myself first (great advice I received early in my career) by saving 5% of my net income from every check. My wife and I don't carry credit card debt, we pay the bills in full each month. Of course when we needed a roof I borrowed the money; not to do so and risk great damage and greater costs down the road makes sense. This differentiates me from those who claim fiscal conservative values yet don't have the sense to realize the consequences of deferred maintenance.

I support policies which are pragmatic and provide the greatest good to the greatest number; a party which respects the rights of the individual, both those with power and those without; a party that administers laws fairly, balancing the needs of the many with the needs of the individual - not an easy task in even the best of times.

I support a party which is a competent and visionary steward of our environment, protects our air and water, promotes the sciences in the never ending quest for knowledge and recognizes the potential in every citizen notwithstanding their race, color, gender, creed or sexual orientation.

I support a party which is honest in its mission and able to offer citizens a clear, unambiguous course, understandable to most of the people all of the time; a party not afraid to admit mistakes and able to adjust course when events dictate, and always open to the vetting of new ideas in the public domain.

So, you don't vote Democrat? I am surprised.

LOL, of course I do, the last Republican President who defended our environment was Richard Nixon, subsequent Republican Presidents supported the polluters, the military-industrial complex and put corporations in the front of the bus; ran on anti-this and anti-that never express a vision for the future.
Of course many Democrats support polluters too as well as the military-industrial complex and put corporations first which is mwh I expressed a mythical party which I would welcome. I vote for Democrats because they are way less toxic than Republicans and actually do have a big tent.

Perfect example of a lib Dem to a conservative Dem no room for conservative dems. Now it's no room for any ideology but socialists for Dems.
Cons and Mods need not apply.

I was born, and raised a democrat. Carter's, incompetence convinced me that the Dem party no longer had the well being of the American public at heart. This conclusion was bolstered by the antics of the Clinton administration. After Carter, I became an independent. Reagan, pulled me into the Republican party. Now after observing the incompetent, self serving, corrupt antics on both sides of the isle I'm an independent once more. To answer your question. The well being of the American people has always been my trigger point to move on. I feel strongly that Congressmen, irregardless of political party, who've been on the job for 20 plus years are no longer representing their constituents. We the people of the USA need to exercise our voting rights, and move them on. If we remain ignorant of current events, and don't make informed voting decisions then we as a society deserve what we get.

I needed to look up "borgs". Really? Is that the best you've got? I'm not even sure calling someone a "borg" is an actual ad hominem. I know you can do better, you've used much more visceral four letter words in the past.

In other words what are the biggest issue(s) for you, that if your party went against your view you would draw the line and say no more, I'm out.

My dad is a hardcore republican, my grandpa was, so I pretty much automatically was born into it. I voted straight ticket republican when I was 18, my biggest principle is fiscal conservatism. They showed me from 2001-2007 that that was no longer a principle of the party so I was out. I'm now a libertarian-leaning independent.

How about you?

I am a Democrat, if the Democratic party pushed the anti worker agenda that the Republican party does I would move on to a third party.

Unions are less than 15% of the worker. Why are you against the real workers of this nation so much that you support the elites?

I did abandon my party. I used to be a Democrat. I abandoned them when it became clear to me that when they say Party of the people, they actually mean party of the Unions and Trail Lawyers.

They became to far left for me, so I moved on.

The real workers are the union people, they have the balls to stand up for what is right while the underpaid non union sheep listen to millionaires on the radio telling them they should be envious of the union guys wages and benefits and therefore should take action to take those good wages and benefits away from them.

so the 85% of us who are not in unions are not Real workers?

Thanks for shedding light on your warped vision of the world.

So you arent really a worker unless you refuse to do your job? You aren't a real worker unless you are willing use thug tactics to extort from businesses and politicians?

This nation would be far better without the corruption the union brings.
