If anti-abortion types win I believe America would look pretty much the same. I'd compare it to the non-effect of gun laws.

Convenient personal anecdote and worthless as evidence.
Some more facts for you to casually dismiss:
Look at the new & improved Supreme Court.
Also consider:
Should it be legal to kill female unborn babies for the "crime" of being female? Yes or no?
You havent seen any slaughtered children unless you have perused photos of those aborted for convenience sake.

Most Women Who Have Abortions Don't Regret Them
Shit, I've known women who've had more than one...
Look at the new & improved Supreme Court.
Also consider:
So your idea is kill millions of innocent minorities and poor folk because you are a bigot and feel they will inevitably become criminals. The Hyde Amendment has kept POOR women from getting abortions.
Hmmmm... 2 million women weren't able to get abortions since fat hypocrite Henry Hyde (who I met once when I used to be a Republican).
US prison population balloons to 2 million... Hmmmmm....
Should it be legal to kill female unborn babies for the "crime" of being female? Yes or no?
So you want to kill tens of millions of helpless females for the "crime" of being female. There are no unborn babies. There are only fetuses.. and a fetus can be killed for any reason that woman and her doctor consider valid. Even ones you might not agree with.
Only lies from pro-abortion atheist nutters.

The OP reminds me of the Jim Crow argument that emancipation had made Southern blacks worse off than they had been under slavery.
What the pro-abortion take on the Philippines' abortion law does not consider is (1) how many babies' lives have been saved because their mothers did not choose to break the law but gave birth to them,
(2) how many couples that wanted to adopt have been able to do so thanks to the law, and
(3) how many unwanted pregnancies have been avoided because women decided to be more careful because they did not want to break the law and did not want to risk trying to get an illegal abortion.

Not really. The birth rate didn't drop after Roe was passed, it wouldn't go up after abortion is outlawed in a few states. They'll just have illegal abortions again.
Says you, and you're always wrong, so no.

No, actually says the Census Bureau.
Here, let me help you out, stupid.
Live Births and Birth Rates, by Year
This is the number of live births, every year, from 1972 to 1977. The year before Roe, the year of Roe, and the next three years.
1972 3,258,411 15.6
1973 3,136,965 14.9
1974 3,159,958 14.9
1975 3,144,198 14.8
1976 3,167,788 14.8
1977 3,326,632 15.4
It only dropped marginally.... and was back to what it was by 1977. In short, we didn't have a huge drop in the birth rate because abortion was legalized.
LolAll their screaming about "infanticide" aside, do you ever wonder what our country would look like if the Anti-Choice fanatics got their way.
Well, thanks to the modern miracles of actually understanding there is a rest of the world out there, we have a real life example.
The Philippines, former American Colony, has exactly the kind of anti-choice laws you guys want.
How's that working out.. Well, let's review.
Unintended Pregnancy and Unsafe Abortion in the Philippines
• The Philippines abortion law is among the strictest in the world. Abortion is illegal under all circumstances and there are no explicit exceptions. Nonetheless, because of high levels of unintended pregnancy, abortion is common in the country. Projections that were based on the national abortion rate in 2000 (the most recent available) and that took into account population increase estimated that 560,000 abortions occurred in 2008 and 610,000 abortions took place in 2012.[2,8,9]
• About 1,000 Filipino women die each year from abortion complications, which contributes to the nation’s high maternal mortality rate. Projections that were based on data from 2000 indicate that 100,000 women were hospitalized for abortion complications in 2012; countless others suffered complications that went untreated.[4,9]
• The stigma surrounding abortion makes it difficult for women to seek postabortion care. Some women report feeling shamed and intimidated by health care workers and in some cases, women are not given pain relievers or anesthetics or are denied treatment all together. Others report being threatened that they would be turned over to the police.[5,8]

Free advice - when debating, don't guess about statistics. Look it up first - and you won't look silly later.
Have a nice day.
LolDo you really think that there is a doctor who kills a perfectly healthy fetus at 8 months and 30 days for no good reason?.
Yes
Kermit Gosnell - Wikipedia
Okay, as long as you want to go there...
Gosnell worked in a state where they ban abortions after week 24. He got business because the reputable providers in his area refused to do later abortions.
But when they put him on trial, despite being a drug-dealing quack who killed and maimed his patients, and kept all the dead fetuses around in pickle jars, they were unable to get convictions on most of the charges related to fetus killing. They started out with 100 charges, got whittled down to 7 by the grand jury, judge threw out 3 more, and the jury refused to convict on one.
Then they had to cut him a sweetheart deal on sentencing to keep him from appealing the verdict.
From your article...
In total during the course of his career, 46 known lawsuits had been filed against Gosnell over some 32 years.[29] Observers claimed that there was a complete failure by Pennsylvania regulators who had overlooked other repeated concerns brought to their attention, including lack of trained staff, "barbaric" conditions, and a high level of illegal late-term abortions.[30]
if the authorities couldn't handle ONE bad provider, how are they going to handle thousands once the practice goes underground?
LolWhy do you hate black people and them aborted? Are you a eugenists like Hillary?
You realize that made no grammatical sense, right?
Blacks only get more abortions because they don't have as easy access to contraception as white women have...
LolI was 1st trimester pro-choice until insane hacks like you made excuses for the ghouls, who are to this this day selling body parts from dismembered aborted fetuses....Now you butchers are carrying the water for infanticide. All their screaming about "infanticide" aside, do you ever wonder what our country would look like if the Anti-Choice fanatics got their way.

Go take your scare story from an irrelevant non-analogous nation and stuff it up your ass.
Except that those stories were out and out lies, fed to you by the rabid anti-abortionists. The people who produced those videos have been charged with fraud.
2 Activists Who Secretly Recorded Planned Parenthood Face New Felony Charges
Yes, women can opt for their fetal tissue being donated to science, but no one is profitting from that donation except the people who are getting life saving stem cell treatements as a result. Research labs pay shipping costs to receive the tissue. For women who want their choice to help others lives, this gives them some comfort.
LOLWow, what an apt description.Correct.What I find so bloody amazing, as well as so damn hypocritical are these "small government" types, predominately males, being so fixated on controlling various aspects of a woman's vagina to the point of an obsession. Then in the next breath, these same control freaks claim their damn guns should all be unfettered from any control under law.
An abortion of a non-viable fetus denies the POTENTIAL for a living being. A gun shot through the head or heart of any person ENDS the life of a living being. Time to end this fucking hypocrisy. Women are not chattel and weapons don't enhance your manhood, fools.
Which goes to the fact that conservatives are not ‘small government.’
Conservatives are fundamentally authoritarian – they seek to compel conformity and punish dissent.
Their unwarranted hostility toward privacy rights is proof of that, where conservatives work to increase the size and power of the state at the expense of individual liberty by compelling women to give birth against their will through force of law.
Bullshit. It would have been higher without abortions. This is not rocket surgery, dumbass.
How exactly does killing babies make for a higher birth rate again?
