I never bought the no father/welfare argument. I grew up without a father, and there was a period where my mother had to work a full time job as well as receive food stamps to support us. Now my brother and I bust our asses for 10 hours a day in a steel mill, one sister design websites, and another sister works at a catering company for almost 10 hours a day while attending culinary classes. Yeah, one of my brothers cooks meth, but four out of five kids ain't bad.

And don't tell me this has anything to do with slavery, racism, oppression, etc. because you never saw this type of behavior from young men in the African-American community back in the 1940's and 1950's when segregation still existed and racism was much worse. Parents in that generation would have beaten their children senseless had they ever done something like this.

And don't tell me we do. I lived on 6 mile in Detroit. My grandma got mugged twice. Everyone has bars on their windows. High crime rate. Now I'm 30 minutes away living in safety. I know first hand the difference between the white and black community.

Maybe Detroit is an exception. What black city in America is safe? What black community has low crime?

I'm not trying to insult blacks just for the sake of being insulting. That would make me a racist. I actually want blacks to assimilate and improve.

Something interesting happened to me today. I think I caught a black guy attempting to break in to my place or maybe my neighbors place. My dog ran him off. I should have asked him who he was. Not cause he's black but because I don't recognize him. But because I don't want to look racist I didn't say anything. I think black people use this to their advantage.

I don't hear the Appalachian community complaining or see them rioting. They/we have our problems too but we aren't complaining.

The local thugs always seemed to pick on the weak or the smart ones, and beat the hell out of them. I use to show up about end of school time and BS with the smart ones who kind of lingered long enough for the thugs to loose interest and wander off. I was surprised that several became LEOs later in life and remember me. Life is strange.

Compare the city I live in with any black community in America. You would rather live here.
