What age were you when you had "The Talk"?

Ha ha ha "this is about coming home alive" too funny. " the talk" ha ha ha

You people act like it's cops that kill blacks 94% instead of black criminals killing blacks 94% if the time.

Anyway my parents never had to give me "the talk" ha ha ha I was always smart enough to respect the authority of police officers at all times.

No we are aware that bad guys are bad guys. Thats pretty obvious but the talk is because cops are supposed to be the good guys.

Think about it without race ok.....You talk to your children about people touching them. They are bad people. But when you have to have a talk to your child about a family member touching them its different. They're supposed to be good.

You should ask a black person instead of acting as if your ignorance of blacks is something that is funny. Ignorance isnt funny. Its like me going ha ha ha you people talk about getting burned in the sun when smoke kills people faster than fires ha ha ha

Black people are full of shit. I know this because I grew up around them. They need to stop pretending they are vicitims. The only black people that have problems with police are criminals. Black people should be kissing the ass of the police, instead all they do is complain and ignore their real problems.

Growing up around something and knowing or understanding isnt the same thing. Thanks for trolling tho...you need work

All you do is play the victim card. It doesn't do you any good or anyone else any good. You know what people do good things for blacks? Cops, so stop bashing them and get your shit together.

This is about the Talk that black parents have with their sons about encounters with police. No one mentioned victims or cards except you

All black kids need "the talk".

Which is in reality a talk about adapting to the norms of living in a civilized society.

Most whites and asian kids do not need the talk because their cultures have been civilized for many centuries.

And dont forget white kids are considered kids until their early twenties too. Black kids are scarey and strong so...like theres that

Whereas, black people up until 4 or 5 generation ago, where still living in grass huts in the jungle and being chased by lions and other wild animals.

So in essence, they still have a jungle mentality buried deep in their subconscience. Which will require several more generations for them to become fully domesticated. ......

What? Ever heard of Egypt? Nice trolling man...You guys are full of troll

The premise of the thread is the police are a danger to black kids. How could you say you're not playing the victim card? Every thread you start you play the victim card. I don't care, keep doing it if you want, nobody buys your bullshit though.

Well because no one is a victim. We are prepping for a future encounter with the police and stating reality. Now, maybe you dont believe its reality and thats where the confusion is but as a black man it is reality.

I dont know how that is "victim card" anymore than saying if you dont use an umbrella you're going to get wet is a victim thing

Did your parents explain that because so many of your peers were breaking the law, you were susceptible to being lumped in with them...so you had to be on guard even though you were innocent?

About ten.

Don't act like a idiot.
Don't act like a idiot to cops.

If a cop asks you something answer with yes sir/no sir

If you end up in jail and I have to come get you, that cell will be a safest place for you.

We didn't need to be told to not hit a cop or try to steal their guns.

It's called parenting.

Yeah I was probably a freshmen in HS or so when the parents started telling me just do whatever they say and worry about anything illegal they may try later in court. Of course my mother was a lawyer though, so...

My father was in the Military...him and mother sat me down and told me not to make any sudden moves, be respectful, we'll get you out if it comes to that etc etc. Not so lucky to have a lawyer as a mom but I remember thinking "Why are we having this talk?" like I just wanted to be a kid and wasnt into anything illegal but the neighborhood I grew up in was known to have Jump Out Squads who would lock up everybody and ask questions later
I am white and got the same talk about the time I was allowed to cross the street by myself.

Yes except it was explained that I'm not what I really am. I'm not innocent until proven guilty. I'm not a "child" in the eyes of the law. So you have to be EXTRA Innocent! Hands out your pocket...hands on the wheel...ask before reaching for anything even if requested. Smile...Like a lot...you know...angry black man...(I developed this one) When you're in a store talk to the people that work there. They'll follow you anyway. Stuff like that.

Think about it like this... you ever met a tall guy who never played basketball? He always gets asked the b ball questions. People assume he's good. People think played ona team but he never has? Or gets asked how tall are they by everyone? Sometimes they be like "damn... why do they think every tall guy plays basketball? I like computers! "

Then imagine if those random people running up on the tall guy was society. Or smaller...the police. And they assume you're guilty of something even if you didn't. Bigger stakes there...and more frustration.

You don't have to understand it but to pretend all blacks are having a mass hallucination for decades...is a little far fetched

Yeah kinda like all the black folks and white privilege and all that? We are all rich and enjoy police escorts to work and inherit millions of dollars.

:haha:

If the majority were innocent, you wouldn't have to be extra innocent. I don't think you're hallucinating...I just think you are a product of your circumstance...and as those circumstances improve we will all understand better the challenge of the old circumstances.

The bolded makes no sense. Since I am viewed as up to something simply because of my skin tone I have to appear extra innocent...Smile, talk to passersby, staff, etc. Now that might seem like a small thing to you but its not especially when the suspicion comes from the police who can act on their suspicions with impunity

Me? About 12 or 11.

Yes Virginia, racism and hatred of police begins at home.

Im White so my "talk" was when I was 16 I went into a poor section of Long Beach California to visit my girlfriend. It was late at night and she didn't answer the door so when I turned around to leave a Long Beach Cop was standing right behind me with his revolver stuck right in my face.

He figured I was casing the place and after a little interrogation and insults from him I was on my way.

To this day that revolver was the "biggest" gun I've ever seen!

This is just too funny. If black parents would just raise their children the right way, they wouldn't need this talk. The majority of violent crimes are committed by a MINORITY of blacks. They brought this mess on themselves. They need to fix it. Simple as that.

See what stereotypes do to people? This guy just summed it up...blacks aren't afforded the opportunity to be individuals. There is black crime and that means blacks have failed all over. Different for white crime tho

The crisis of black parenting, illegitimacy, fatherlessness, and single parenthood ceases to become a stereotype when the statistics demonstrate that the "serotype" is a statistical truth.

Blacks aren't afforded the opportunity to become individuals because they don't treat themselves as individuals. For example, any black person who goes against the black cultural ideology is often referred to as an "uncle tom." Blacks vote in 90% unison in elections. Whites are much more evenly distributed across the political spectrum. Whites can disagree without being accused a race traitor. Blacks often cannot. The problem is that even blacks do not see themselves as individuals, but a racial category.

The reason why black crime is a larger problem than white crime is because blacks are statistically more prone to violent crimes than whites. When the black statistical violent crime rate declines below the white statistical rate we may start asking "What's wrong with white culture to the point that they statistically commit a higher percentage of violent crimes in proportion to their total race?" Until that day expect more people to criticize black culture for the disproportionate crimes they commit.

We know that pic is fake. There is a dad AND a mom in the pic...no 40's laying around....:)

Indeed, the fact they the child has two parents also makes it a statistical misrepresentation. It's a photo of black America that simply doesn't exist.
