Well...looky at who is now behind more domestic drilling...

Choices:

* Move closer to employment

* Park the cars and use public transportation

* Ride Bicycles and buy one more

* Ride 100 mpg motorcycles

* Drive cars that get 35-48 mpg in the city

* Get 3 pair of new walking shoes

* When going out on a date walk or ride a bike to discover how
romantic life can be. Do a little wine over cheese and fruit while out and about.

Perhaps if the majority would adopt some of the above the USA just might be able to get by with existing USA resources. No more drilling necessary. There will be electric vehicles and super mpg vehicles all over the place thus we successfully cut wayyyy
on needs for oil and diminish pollution = a new dawn.

Think: Gas powered vehicles are large tax dollar budget items. Cars are constantly whining for more lanes or new roads or snow removed or fix the damn potholes or etc etc etc. all of which require tax dollars and more tax dollars and more tax dollars and more tax dollars.

Gas powered vehicles are tax dollar moochers!

Here's an idea.... mind your own business and quit being such a mind numbed lemming.

You can have opinions on oil production but I cannot?

Democracy is in serious danger perhaps an endangered species

Yeah, oil production is awesome and oil is plentiful. It's 2012.. I don't want to peddle about town on a bicycle. If you do, fine, have at it.

There would be no net gains in employment in fossil fuels.

This so-called "tax reform" is aimed specifically at the oil and gas industries by disqualifying them from tax code provisions that are extended to every other sector of the economy.
You can't say you support fossil fuels development when there's $90 billion in taxes on the table.
Yep.

Thanks to ADD brainwashed dittoheads for the total spin on the subject. Of course he's always been for it, just not getting into bed with the oil industry like Bush, with the usual results...

really?

Tell Obama that...
Barack Obama on Offshore Drilling - Election 2008 - Barack Obama on Offshore Drilling
Obama opposes more offshore drilling and does not favor ending the federal moratorium that has protected most U.S. waters since the early 1980s, but he has said he would be willing to compromise on that position if offshore drilling were included as part of an overarching strategy to lower energy costs.

"My interest is in making sure we've got the kind of comprehensive energy policy that can bring down gas prices," Obama told The Palm Beach Post in late July 2008.

Drilling for oil off the US coast has the support of John McCain and President Bush, but not Barack Obama.

Shyttehead. LOL. And the moratorium that has protected most waters goes on.

he has never been a socialist as you've been misled into believing. Intelligent, well regulated business, rather than stupid Pub Boom and Bust deregulation and scandalous cronyism with big business. Pub dupes...

All of these "recommendations" by his JOBS council are all Republican ideas..now he is going to try and take credit for them..

he really does think the Amercian people are Stupid...

He just had to wait until his buddies could benefit from it.

From the link:

General Electric Chief Executive Jeffrey Immelt, who chairs the non-partisan panel, acknowledged the tough challenges that remained, saying, "None of us believes there is one silver bullet on competitiveness and job creation."

oh yeah, I saw that too...
:eusa_shhh: his base doesn't want to hear that..

I bet he's being pulled kicking and screaming into have to go along with any of this..

I think I heard he warned his base they weren't going to like it...

How pathetic is that of a President...worried more about what his base will feel than what is the right thing to do for the country.

Almost all the jobs Bills since 2/2010 have been "Pub ideas" in the past, but they STILL vote against them. The country isn't important, only getting the black guy. Now you get your reward for your un-American treachery...

This tactic regarding increased fossil fuel E&P is aimed at bringing more tax dollars to the fed, nothing else.
Remember, Obama's proposed budget contains up to $90 billion in tax penalties on the oil and gas industry.

He can't have it both ways.
Tax penalties or removal of industry specific tax breaks?

Wait till he swings around and endorses Scott Walker. :lmao:

Obama's Jobs Council Calls for Tax Reform, Domestic Drilling | Fox Business

Whaddya know? Four years ago he was steadfast on keeping a tight lid on off-shore and domestic drill expansion.

He hates the environment now.
Damn polluter.

He will do and say anything to get reelected.

Yes there is that too of course.
As will his contenders do to get elected.

Yes and no. I will confess that whoever does win, will end up another Statist, saying one thing, and doing another. That's always a concern.
