My only point is that Bush went to Congress and asked for the Congressional authority to take the country to war before he took the country to war - period...something Obama never did before he dragged the US into 2 wars on his own.Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry, etc...all made the case to go to war and take Hussein out. Thank you for admitting Democrats voted to give bush the authority to go to war, something Obama refused to do before he dragged the US into his own 2 wars.In reality more Democrats in Congress voted against giving President Bush the power to decide.
"This is a difficult vote. This is probably the hardest decision I have ever had to make. Any vote that may lead to war should be hard, but I cast it with conviction. … My vote is not, however, a vote for any new doctrine of preemption or for unilateralism or for the arrogance of American power or purpose.” A vote for the resolution, “is not a vote to rush to war; it is a vote that puts awesome responsibility in the hands of our president. And we say to him: Use these powers wisely and as a last resort.”
Again, the historical context you continually ignore is that the push was to get the UN on board like GHWB did. But they had to lie to our friends on the SC and invade without the support of the UN.
