WHO agreed to Obama's terms? ISS?Hey that was the Big Bush Bug Out. You remember when he has that shoe thrown at him right? When he was forced to sign the timetable for our complete withdrawal from Iraq? Who signed the SOFA? He was the architect of the invasion and occupation of Iraq, and all that followed in its aftermath is his and the GOP's legacy.
You still want to play that game that Obama had to pull out?
The Iraqis could have asked us to leave at any time after President Bush signed too. For that matter President Obama could have left at any time too.
You want to pretend that the shift in the balance of power in the ME was because of what President Obama did?
Chickenhawks and Chickendoves Both Need to Be Fried
Evacuating the ground troops made no difference. Within minutes, jets stationed in the Persian Gulf could have wiped out ISIS, not to mention what Tomahawk missiles would have done to that rabid Arab rabble. The Heirguardsman and Darth Evader might have been as negligent as Obama. They wouldn't have wanted to admit that trillions of dollars and 100,000 American casualties had accomplished nothing, so they would have claimed that ISIS was a desperate leftover band of stragglers whom our Iraqi puppet army would quickly defeat on its own.
Getting our combat troops out of Iraq was the best thing we could do. The Iraqis wanted it, let them fight for it. Of course after ISIS was to the outskirts of Erbil and Baghdad, the US Military finally stepped had to step back in. Guess what? They agreed to Obama's terms!
- Even though we are still trying to liberate all of Iraq from ISIS after Barry let them flow back in without opposition?
- Like how Obama had ISIS fenced in...until they conducted the worst attack on Paris since WWII the very next night?
Look Red, you should know that the Iraqis went to the UN and asked that the Mandate for the US Occupation (that the Bush Administration asked the UN for and got for several years) be terminated at the end of 2008. Actually they had been asking since the occupation started. They demanded that our troops be subject to their laws. President Bush didn't agree to that and signed the SOFA with the withdrawal provisions.
It was the Shiite Iraqi government who let ISIS take over the Sunni strongholds in the West. We only got back involved to save Erbil, the Oil Capital of Kurdistan. But gee, it's like we never left. well except our kids aren't the ones fighting and dying in the battles over there.
Funny how you guys still try to conflate a terrorist attack in France with a military campaign to take back territory in the ME.
