Venezuela ravaged by socialism.

The issue is the autocracy that comes with end-stage socialism. They fucked up their economy with Chavez-ism, and their dogmatic mindset doesn't allow them to change policies to adjust to the current situation. They put politics over technological competence when it came to appointments in their oil industry, they ignored calls to re-invest in their oil infrastructure, and when push came to shove and supplies of foodstuffs became scarce, they doubled down on the command economy mantra with price controls that have done nothing to fix the situation.

The Western Democracies are democracies first, social/capital mixed economies second. They have inflated safety nets, but not the command economies found in true socialist states. They also don't have the people revolting against the current government, which is what is happening in Venezuela.

That's becoming debatable here in the US don't you think? The fourth estate has declared war on the sitting President, and we have one of our two major political parties actively trying to oust him as well... Pretty incredible stuff.

Venezuela is being destroyed by low oil prices, just like Russia.
Bwahahaha! :lmao:

So then why isn't Saudi Arabia being "destroyed"? Why isn't the United Arab Emirates being "destroyed"? Why isn't Canada being "destroyed"? Why isn't Iran being "destroyed"? All produce more oil than Venezuela!

The idiotic, ignorant, and irrational excuses you make for the failed left-wing ideology you embrace is absolutely absurd Dragonlady. You come across as a joke. Do your freaking homework and just admit when left-wing policy fails. Literally making stuff up out of thin air makes you look like a buffoon.

Because the Saudis and the AE have banked billions in oil money and are glutting the market with cheap oil. They don't need the cash.

But Russia is dependant on oil exports to Europe to pay for basic government and infrastructure and Venezuela's economy is totally dependant on oil. It's their only export.

Canada's economy and dollar are also being affected by low oil prices but we have a mixed economy, not dependant on one export so the effect is not as severe.

You have it backwards. The President has declared war on the media because he doesn't like what they're saying about him. What a putz!

List me one nation without government regulations, laws and just allows a free flow of goods that is within the top 30 gdp.

That's right. We need a balance between the two ideologies. Pure socialism not good, pure capitalism not good.
