Venezuela ravaged by socialism.

I said read Marx and get back to me.
We've all read Marx. And then we laughed at the stupidity of it. So while you live the fat-cat life provided to you by capitalism while pontificating about the wonders of marxist communism, the people who lived in reality are confirming to the world what an idiotic idealist you are.

And this is what the leftists and so-called *environmentalists* want for the US.

"Venezuela cannot wake up from its socialist nightmare....

"This was wholly preventable. And I blame socialism.

"Venezuela's previous president, Hugo Chavez, set the stage for the country's destruction by spending Venezuela's oil money on social programs designed to boost his popularity even as he set about wrecking the country's assets, expropriating most valuable private companies, sometimes to turn them into bureaucracies and sometimes to give them to friends, implementing price and retail controls that ensured people wouldn't have access to basic necessities and capital controls that caused inflation to rise, shutting down alternative voices in the media, Putin- and Erdogan-style, and winking at top-to-bottom corruption."

Sound familiar?

Venezuela's socialist hell

Venezuela is being destroyed by low oil prices, just like Russia.

Why do idiot conservatives use Venezuela or Greece as examples of socialist economies? Oh right, they're a mess, for different reasons, but a mess. They're the only 2 socialist countries which are a mess, unless you include the US, which was pulled back from the edge by Obama, but is headed there again under Trump.

All of the EU, North America and South America are socialist democracies. Most are far more successful than the US. But you never use more successful countries like Canada, Finland, Denmark, Switzerland or the Netherlands in these comparisons.

Those EU countries....do not provide for their own defense...if they actually had to provide a real miltary, with an airforce, navy, and army......they would crash faster than they are already crashing....they can't afford their social welfare states now...and they will end up like Venezuela......

As Dennis Prager stated....Socialism spends the money Capitalism creates....

Bwahahaha! :lmao:

So then why isn't Saudi Arabia being "destroyed"? Why isn't the United Arab Emirates being "destroyed"? Why isn't Canada being "destroyed"? Why isn't Iran being "destroyed"? All produce more oil than Venezuela!

The idiotic, ignorant, and irrational excuses you make for the failed left-wing ideology you embrace is absolutely absurd Dragonlady. You come across as a joke. Do your freaking homework and just admit when left-wing policy fails. Literally making stuff up out of thin air makes you look like a buffoon.

The problem with true socialism and communism is that it is only effective in small societies, whereas on a national scale, it stifles competition and productivity. Those that might otherwise be inclined to produce inventions that could move their society forward, see no significant reward for themselves and thus just drift along with the herd mentality, whereas, in capitalism, they can see the benefit to themselves by moving forward on inventions.

Yeah, yeah.....I'm just an idealist. And very naive at that. Surely the day will come when I can appreciate all the blessings bestowed upon me by the capitalist mode of production, and see that they originate from the netherworld by a higher power!

Now that we have dispensed with criticisms of me, why have you refused to consider Marx's criticisms of the German Socialist Democratic Party plan? Thus far there has been two presented in this thread. Criticism of the State and criticism of the policy of redistribution. Two things that perfectly align with your beliefs, no?

I doubt it. Immature idealists never "appreciate" reality until they experience the "wonders" that is marxism first-hand.

For all of your devotion to that idiotic and failed ideology, we've all noticed your inaction when it comes to moving to Cuba or Venezuela to experience your utopia first-hand. Actions speak louder than words.

The issue is the autocracy that comes with end-stage socialism. They fucked up their economy with Chavez-ism, and their dogmatic mindset doesn't allow them to change policies to adjust to the current situation. They put politics over technological competence when it came to appointments in their oil industry, they ignored calls to re-invest in their oil infrastructure, and when push came to shove and supplies of foodstuffs became scarce, they doubled down on the command economy mantra with price controls that have done nothing to fix the situation.

The Western Democracies are democracies first, social/capital mixed economies second. They have inflated safety nets, but not the command economies found in true socialist states. They also don't have the people revolting against the current government, which is what is happening in Venezuela.

Someone has never taken a single political science or government class in his sorry life and believes there's only two choices: Pure socialism or pure capitalism.

The entire first world is somewhere in between the two and always has at least some government within their economy...Fact.

Blaming all of socialism for what is going on in Venezuela isn't telling the truth. It would be like me blaming all of capitalism for the pollution in China or India or for slavery in the new world in the 15th and 16th century and stating that we should abolish the whole damn thing.

Venezuela needs a good man like bernie sanders to address their socialist woes......

For the people !!! Lol
