USMCA: Pelousy Shows Her Hatred For America

Trump actually said at the Iowa rally, that when he forgets the name "USMCA", he thinks of the song YMCA!

1. I feel sorry for the Speaker.

a. She had earlier been against impeachment.
b. She was forced into it by the Squad.
c. She wanted to keep the Speakership, so she caved.

i . One of the perks of that office is having a private plane to travel back to California where she can visit her family, talk with constituents, and get facial touchups. Being a very wealthy lady, she does not want to fly first class with ordinary human beings. She is THE Speaker, for goodness' sake!

2. If the Dems win the House again in November, she will probably be elected Speaker again with the promise that she will step down at the end of that Congress and be succeeded by a lady of color. The Dems probably have decided that the Speakership is now reserved for ladies. Males need not apply.

The USMCA is the biggest trade deal in the history of the world, yet lamestream media outlets like crazy CNN never EVER mention it, my friends

NAFTA was two things.....a lowest-labor dollar possible for the Fortune 500 and the Rat's goal of deindustrializing North America. 60.000 factories closed by these fucking creeps....what kind of people do that to their country?

Total utter crap. Most factories went off shore because your corporate masters didn't want to pay US workers US hourly rates. Also, automation has had much more of an effect on closing factories than any trade deal.
Well as Obama was ending his Presidency, certainly MFG wasn't seeing much growth:

But, then Trump!

FRED is a fraud, no more meaningful than a chart from Excel - it will say anything you want. Still, you're point is solid.
Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) is a Fraud? Look at all those manufacturing jobs, right after Trump took over:

Doing a fabulous job for the American Worker comes naturally to Trump: this guy stares down solar eclipses!

What I mean is that FRED is a graphing engine that will output anything you like based on inputs. It will say what you want it to say.

Fucking lie. Environmental regulation is the #1 reason for offshoring.

The above is nothing but total utter Fake News

The epic mistake about manufacturing that’s cost Americans millions of jobs

“American factories are about twice as efficient today as they were three decades ago. So we’re producing more and more stuff, even as we use fewer and fewer people to do it.”

I love when you Communists come up with bullshit.

The article thinks offshoring began in 2016 and was because of Donald Trump, an exercise in TDS stupidity.

Not really, the only groundwork that Obama laid out was a bunch of EO's to stifle businesses, which Trump
promptly eliminated. But, hey.....carry on with your yarn, Grump.

You mean how Obama got things back to an even keel after the clusterfuck that Bush jnr left him? What EOs' stifled business. And what has Trump done to stimulate business? And how well is business going?

Lie much, Forrest?

What is with these anti-American democratic pukes?
They are as deranged as The Fake News Media

A NEW LOW for #FakeNews — Media Spins 100% Negative on Trump Defense Team — 95% Positive Spin on Schiff and his Dopes

Next Week Trump will hold the SOTU Speech and after the Dems act like spoiled disrespectful children because all their obvious lies collapsed, the American People will determine that they are pathological.

We make a serious mistake if we attempt to draw a distinction between the media and the democrat party. They are one and the same. The media only reports things that will serve the party.

NAFTA was superior to the USMCA in many ways

Even for a drugged out old stripper, that's some DUMB shit....

Don’t talk about Melania like that

In what ways was NAFTA better for America than the USMCA? You told the lie, support it.

Nah, you're worse than Truthmatters. never a rational post or reasoned debate from you. You're a shit flinging feral baboon, nothing more.

It opened up markets to American made goods on both sides of the border.

Bullshit.

It opened up outsourcing of manufacturing jobs to Mexico. That giant sucking sound.

Rules of Origin
In order to qualify for duty-free treatment, so-called “rules of origin” look at what percent of a product is imported from elsewhere and what percent is made in North America. The new pact raises the North American content requirement for auto manufacturing from 62.5 percent to 75 percent. That is a large increase that diminishes the attractiveness of manufacturing outside of North America, in part because it makes it hard to obtain economies of scale with smaller inputs.

Sunset Clause

Nafta was forever. Unfortunately, the world is a dynamic place and over time the agreement became stale. But since it had no mechanism for automatic updates, it continued to fall further and further out of sync with economic realities. First and foremost, it was advertised as likely to shrink the U.S. trade deficit with Mexico but instead it greatly expanded it.

The USMCA will expire in 16 years. Every six years, the countries involved will meet to decide whether or not to extend it for another six years. This was a compromise between the Trump administration’s initial demand for an agreement set to expire after five years and the demands of Canada and Mexico that it last indefinitely.

Workers Rights

The new trade pact also guarantees Mexican workers the right to form and join unions. In the U.S., unions are skeptical that this will be properly enacted in Mexico and enforced going forward. But in theory, it would diminish the benefits to U.S. companies from moving south of border to be able to employ workers denied the right to organize.

Wages

The new deal also requires a minimum input for duty-free manufacturing from workers paid at least $16 an hour. The practical short term effect will be to shift production away from Mexico and towards Canada and the U.S., Over the long term, it could result in higher wages for Mexican workers, shrinking the wage differential that acts like a magnet pulling jobs south of the border. Sunset clause
Milk, Cheese, Ice cream

Oddly enough, this was one of the most contentious issues in the negotiations. Canada has a very complex system of barriers and subsidies that make it very difficult for U.S. dairy farmers to export their products. Canada is keeping this system in place but increasing the market share U.S. dairy products are permitted to compete for,

Intellectual Property

Here are some of the highlights of the new protections for IP, as provided by the Trump administration.

  • Include 10 years of data protection for biologic drugs and a robust scope of products eligible for protection.
  • Require full national treatment for copyright and related rights so United States creators are not deprived of the same protections that domestic creators receive in a foreign market.
  • Continue to provide strong patent protection for innovators by enshrining patentability standards and patent office best practices to ensure that United States innovators, including small- and medium-sized businesses, are able to protect their inventions with patents.}

In some ways NAFTA was superior to USMCA. Opening markets to what you produce domestically is good sense.

Restrictions on that trade hurts your producers.

NAFTA was a boon for Canada and Mexico at the expense of American workers. Dairy farmers in America were completely fucked by NAFTA, which allowed Canada to dump dairy goods below cost while virtually prohibiting American dairy from being sold in Canada. Likewise corn was heavily tariffed going into Mexico but American jobs moved to Mexico were duty free, i.e. Ford and GM could sell cars and trucks built in Mexico under the same structure as those manufactured in America.

NAFTA was a bad deal for America, at least the middle class.

{
Both of Perot’s opponents (George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton) argued that NAFTA would create jobs in the U.S. because of business expansion.

However, the goods balance of trade for the U.S. with Mexico has been negative and steadily growing over the years. In 2010 it amounted to $61.6 billion, which was 9.5% of the total goods trade deficit last year.

So Perot has been vindicated in his opinion; expanded free trade has not been accompanied by an increase in jobs in the U.S. relative to the vast numbers of jobs created in the rest of the world as NAFTA became just a stepping stone on the pathway to global commerce.

Just how much the giant vacuum has been collecting has been calculated at GEI Analysis. The results are shown in the following two graphs. The first shows manufacturing jobs lost each year starting with 1992 that are equivalent to the U.S. goods trade deficits over the past 19 years. The second shows the cumulative job loss, amounting to almost 29 million jobs by the end of 2010.}

Looks Like Ross Perot Was Right About The “Giant Sucking Sound”

The only liar here is you.

All you can do with the FRED is adjust what data is shown, you cannot alter the data at all. The things you highlighted on your screenshot are just about what data is shown, it does not in any way affect the actual data.
