    Shadow stripes that are mysterious can be observed when only about 1 % of the sun is not covered. Very mysterious phenomenon, which is also called diffraction patterns. Basically new shadows develop, in wavy stripes, first expand, then thin out, each a few inches wide, making everything like a zebra.
