US battery storage "shattered deployment records" in Q4 2023.

Storage systems will be developed that don't depend on chemical batteries, however rest assured that they will be as expensive and complicated as it is possible to make them.

Why don’t you look it up.
Explained in post number 20.

Also, the article linked in OP doesn't provide enough specifics on those batteries to know what they are talking about that would allow outside research ("look it up").

Bottom line on intellectual integrity is that if one is going to toot their horn on 'battery' storage, they should provide the details on those batteries, not just some generic PR fluff.

Geesus, we have 9000 gigawatt hours in pumped hydro storage……

Exactly….but we’ve always had MAJOR storage facilities for electricity. It’s hard to explain to deniers because they have so little basic knowledge about electricity regardless. Batteries are just more convenient.
Plus, they aren’t necessary the same type. It varies with usage. There are no restrictions on weight or size so they can be much cheaper and less exotic…

Ha ha. I disagree
It’s available to everyone. It’s really repetitious..
We have had massive electric storage for decades. Just Google it. Unless someone looks it up themselves, they’ll keep making foolish retorts. We know deniers aren’t serious. Storage varies with the location.

Yes ... simply awesome. The environment has never been happier:

Cats kill more birds than wind mills
Fossil fuel pollution including plastics is more widespread than any other known to man kind.
You prefer wars for fossil fuels ? Sounds like it.

That's your argument? Cats kill birds?

Nevertheless ... wind turbines and solar arrays, together, kill lots and lots of birds only they don't eat their prey like cats do.

No mention of the strip mines and the greedy need for more and more lithium?

Look it up. You’ll always sound uninformed if you just keep arguing from ignorance.

stop repeating* the same lies…look it up.
That’s bullshit. All of it. Dufus, nearly half the oil pumped out of Texas was literally dumped into the ocean during ww2.
Wars over fossil fuels have been devastating to our economy and environment for decades…
you like wastin* money and lives

Lots and lots….that’s it ? You think cats eat the birds ? Hilarious. Nearly all dead animals decompose back into the ecology….Look up how lithium is mined. While your at it look up how ALL the other metals are mined in every automobile made. Steel aluminum titanium copper etc…
Are found in fossil fuel cars. You’re redundant and ill informed. But you do love wars don’t you ?

What is the life-span of these batteries ?
Will thye last long enough to pay for themselves ?

Estimates on EV cars will take over 47 years to pay for themselves in less pollution; the average EV isn't expected to last more than 15 years tops. Solar panels are still pretty expensive, even with all the govt. welfare heaped on them and the companies who make them. They also degrade over time and need replacing after 20 years or so. Inverters last 10 years, maybe 20.
