U.S. Companies on Pace to Bring Home Record Number of Overseas Jobs

Both "sides" love them some H1Bs.

And that's because employers can control H1Bs, who can't just float to another job and give themselves a pay raise. Their entire existence in the country - legally anyway - is dependent upon their remaining in their employer's good graces. So yeah, they'll work 80, 90, 100 hours a week and keep their mouths shut, usually at baseline pay.

But the other side of this coin is, if you look in your typical STEM classroom these days, a lot of them aren't American. Our math and science skills coming out of HS generally suck badly relative to the rest of the world. So there's that.
 
American citizens should not be working in factories unless they are getting a big bunch more $ than foreign workers get.
 
If companies are "re-shoring" jobs, it's not due to anything Biden's administration did. All they've done is threaten companies with more corporate taxes so they will pay their "fair share".

Let’s hope this helps repair supply chain issues, maybe we have learned our lessons and start buying on quality and what is best for America and stop shopping price.
