Trump slams Puerto Rico: ‘They want everything to be done for them’

sep 30 2017 President Trump on Saturday criticized Puerto Rico's "poor leadership" and defended his administration's response to the aftermath of Hurricane Maria's devastation on the island.
Following a plea for aid by San Juan's mayor, Trump said the mayor was being "nasty."

"The Mayor of San Juan, who was very complimentary only a few days ago, has now been told by the Democrats that you must be nasty to Trump," Trump tweeted. "Such poor leadership ability by the Mayor of San Juan, and others in Puerto Rico, who are not able to get their workers to help."

"They want everything to be done for them when it should be a community effort," he continued. "10,000 Federal workers now on Island doing a fantastic job."

There is probably something to that.

We are having to import truck drivers to deliver supplies because
they don't have near enough.

Half that frickin' island is being supported by the State.

Those folks have forgotten how to work

Everyone on the island is a victim. How do people get to work with impassible roads, destroyed vehicles, no fuel...etc?

What part of total devastation don't you get?

Is there not enough truck drivers because the truck drivers are demanding aid be delivered by other truck drivers?

That there is the pinnacle of irony coming from an elitist asshole who's been handed everything all his life and never even held a job until last January.

The 1920 law, which applies to all US ports, requires that all goods shipped to or from the island be handled by American ships, to the deliberate exclusion of lower-cost foreign freighters.
The law, according to economists, cited by Denis, makes food cost twice as much in Puerto Rico as in nearby Florida, and has drained as much as $17 billion from the island between 1990 and 2010.

they pay one way or another.

Around the year 2000, Marxist activists forced Puerto Rico to kick the U.S. Marines from a training base they used in Vieques P.R. for sixty years. Now they want the Marines back but I haven't heard apologies.
