I'd love to provide alternative political humour in the form of a talk show or skit. Even if I do say so myself, I think that there is SO much untapped material provided by the alt-left and Snowflake community in particular, that one could achieve some level of success.

Trump slams late night hosts as 'unfunny,' raises fed's 'equal time' law for Republicans

President Trump took aim at late-night TV hosts in early morning tweets on Saturday for their "unfunny" and frequent anti-Trump routines.

He accused them of "dealing with Democrats" and suggested he and fellow Republicans should be given equal time under the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules for political candidates.

“Late Night host are dealing with the Democrats for their very ‘unfunny’ & repetitive material, always anti-Trump! Should we get Equal Time?” Trump said in a two-part tweet.

The FCC requires radio and network TV stations to give equal opportunities to legitimate political candidates, under the 1934 so-called “equal time” law.

Among Trump’s biggest late-night critics are CBS's Stephen Colbert, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Meyers, host of NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

Apples and Oranges Trump. Do not conflate 'Equal Time' with the 'Fairness Doctrine' Kimmel et al are not politicians, they are entertainers. The Fairness Doctrine is now defunct and rightly so.

I would appreciate it if they just had FUNNY late night show hosts like Leno and Carson

Don't underscore that our President is a retard (or "fucking moron," to use Tillerson's words). The Fairness Doctrine applied to political candidates only. Holy shit, the guy is so pathetic.

I could imagine Jeff being very effective. He seems to me to be sharp minded and could easily cross over in his appeal. I can't envision Tim Allen. To me he's more of an actor, while Jeff is a natural comedian, not taking anything away from Tim

This would require now blood in my opinion. A sharp minded, libertarian who understands the hypocrisy of the MSM and who could battle wits with the inevitable attacks he/she would receive without looking petty or defensive.

Do you ever watch late night tv? It isn't set up to battle wits. They interview people who just wrote a book or have a movie coming out. They do a stand up routine at the opening but no one debates them. If the conservatives put on yet another debate show at 11:30 p.m., I sure wouldn't watch it. I think Jeff Foxworthy is really funny, but I don't want political debate at that time of night.

Yes, I understand. The battle of wits won't happen on set, it will happen outside of the show. Through social media, comments made by actresses, singers and other comedians who will attack whoever the conservative is, because free speech is only for socialists at the moment.

As soon as someone says "free market healthcare", they will be roasted. Or talk about "ANTIFA being a criminal organization" in a joke. Or saying "all lives matter". That comedian had best not live in California and try that.

Think of the CNN panel in which Jefferey Lord was taking on all comers, that's how it would feel for a libertarian comedian dealing with the usual suspects who will try to denounce his show. Last Man Standing was cut without any fanfare, shows you how much some dislike certain political discussions, whether in the form of a sitcom or a comedy show.

I can't imagine the outrage and attacks one would receive if instead of Trump the target each night was Schmuer, Pelosi, Sanders, Clinton (and her pals) etc.

Trump's immaturity and mental illness get more pathetic every week. The child-man is on the verge of a breakdown. Hopefully, his babysitters can keep him in check. He will almost certainly go off the rails when crooked Invanka gets indicted by the NY AG.

He's actually beginning to worry me. All this inability to work with the people he has hired and appointed. It doesn't bode well, nor does refusing to send a cohesive message to the world.

Trump does not understand humor
It is too nuanced for his intellect

He is also incapable of laughing at himself....and there is a lot to laugh at
