It is good and prudent to have multiple avenues of energy in case one suffers from an emergency situation.

Trump is right. Electric Cars are a stupid idea. They are heavier, which means much more wear on roads. Lithium batteries? Short lived if you need your car for work, meaning every day driving at speed on our freeways, the more you use a battery, the harder you drive, the more you use the battery, the quicker the battery will fail.

All electric cars are heavily subsidized, nobody buys one without the government, paying a substantial portion of the cost.

Electricity, still needs to be made, with wind and solar you will maybe a get a few hours a day from the sun and wind. But when the sun goes down, most nights are windless, and of course no sun.

All the elements required to make batteries are expensive, and much rarer than gas.

Forget Trump, forget Bedin, and go by what is in your face. If America all plugged in an EV our power grid would go down. Places like California have trouble keeping the power on now. Power going to Calif from neighboring states would be cut to power their own EV's causing black outs around Calif. Also what is producing the power to charge these EV's? Maybe in 10 or 15 years but no way in Hell is it near a reality now or could it be. This is one of the delusions which we all seem to follow.

Remember the 60's and early 70's? Above every city there was brown crap we called smog? Over half our water ways you couldn't swim or fish Not only your eyes and lungs burned but your skin. It sucked! So bad we did something about it. Along the way some worked, some didn't but today I no longer have to deal with the smog and I can't remember the last time I saw a no swimming sign.

Only differance is we had the toys to clean our air and water. Our power grid is no way near that of an EV nation. Only a delusional crack pot and the few that follow would think other wise.
