We don't offer medical benefits because most of our employees have them as being military retirees, members of the National Guard, etc. I had insurance coverage through my wife's company, but a back injury after a bout with antibiotic resistant pneumonia has run her out of FMLA benefits, so we are about to lose that insurance. We will survive somehow.

I know this sounds insane but last year I was doing my taxes....and according to the IRS I had too much insurance. So they taxed me an extra $3000. That's strange, because I still ended up having to pay for more than half of my medical expenses.

If my out of pocket expenses were more than what my insurance was paying, how am I over insured?
This is a taste of the insanity that Obama brought to our lives.

Trump erased that "Golden Parachute" tax with an EO and 2018 will be the last tax year for the individual mandate.
