The 1950's had the biggest middle class in world history up until the last few years when China topped it.
The 1950's one parent could afford a house, 3-4 kids and a a wife.
We had the most innovation and advancement in science in world history.
Our educational system kicked ass
etc

All when the rich paid far more in taxes, had strong unions and government paid for most of the r&d. Look at South Korea, Taiwan, China or Britain today to see that his model is better.
