. Courts are NOT allowed to write laws. The very first words of the constitution after the preamble are "all legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a congress of the united states". You want a law legalizing queer marriage then have congress write one.

The court doesn't have to write new laws. They interpret all of them. According to SCOTUS the law to allow same sex marriage was written long ago and not interpreted properly by the courts. They fixed it according to the current court.

Ever hear of the Supreme Court of the United States?

Do you know what their job is?

That's what they always say. " We didn't write a law - this is just an interpretation".

They say that because that is the job the constitution gives them. It is the reason for them to exist. The founders of the Constitution knew a SCOTUS was necessary so they wrote one into the Constitution.

Trump rules all media.

His every utterance is parsed, dissected, scrutinized, debated, discussed, obsessed over!!

meanwhile he just keeps rollin'!!

"Law of the land" is a commonly used colloquialism. Trump is not a lawyer, or a politician. He speaks like a normal person and normal people do not obsess over minutia......

I wasn't aware they wrote a new law, I thought they said gay people have a right to marry too under your current laws.

If you're upset by that why not have congress write a law that says gay people can't marry?

Trump is right. It is the law of the land. The only thing that can be done about it is to get Congress to pass a law making it illegal. THINK!

That wouldn't matter. The courts would then nullify that law too.

Because the courts would repeal that law too. Even though repealing laws is a legislative function that only congress has.

Could you show that to us. I've never heard of such a law and don't think anyone else has either.
