The costs for the F-35, 35A and 35B were already projected to come down by Lockheed Martin a few months ago owing to the economy of scale based on all the domestic and foreign contracts as announced in Defense News a while back! Its called project expansion as the program matures! So that assurance by the CEO is nothing more than PR horseshit!

Good on him if he won some savings........But it's not an air superiority fighter and that's why the buy should be limited. Get the Marines theirs otherwise your amphibs lose value....Buy a squadron for each carrier and call it a day.....At 50 to 75 a yr should have enough time to FasTrack the new design...
