I just watched it on Fox News. That's exactly what they said. That Trump tried to close it two years ago, but the previous AG wouldn't let it close with all these outstanding charges.
The new AG is letting it close, but under supervision.

Serious Question: If the AG has filed a lawsuit, instead of indicting or arresting him/them, that must mean is it civil not criminal charges, right? And like Trump University, Trump will get out of it by throwing some money at them. Right?

Hopefully someone knows the answer to this. I've never heard of an AG filing a lawsuit instead of arresting someone. Of course, I don't know a lot about this stuff.

This suit was to address the foundation. It's meant to reveal how it operated, why that was not proper and why it should be dissolved.

If there were criminal acts as a result of it's improper operations, they will be addressed separately.
