"Look, he's a showboat. He's a grandstander," said Trump in an interview with NBC's Lester Holt.

Apparently our Dear Leader doesn't like it when someone else is a showboat or a grandstander.

I think we now have the other reason, besides the Russian investigation, that Trump fired Comey.

Comey was stepping on Trump's air time.

Can’t say for sure but I don’t recall another FBI director who weighed in as many times as Comey did on matters of national importance…. He sure seemed to like the cameras.

Why did it take so long to fire someone for something he did last year? Trump is full of shit on the reasoning but he is correct in calling Comey a showboat and a grandstander.

And you don't see the irony of Trump calling someone else a showboat and a grandstander?

As far as I know Comey only had one press conference- the rest of the time he was in front of the camera's was when he was testifying before Congress.

And yeah- Trump hated that 'grandstanding'

Shrug.

Which one is currently unemployed?

Sure I do. And I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason he was fired was because he was stealing ink from him. One of the reasons Romney wasn’t considered further for SoS was because he was thought to be taller and more handsome than Trump.

Okay, here is where you jump the shark a bit. It’s an art form in Washington that when you “testify” you know your audience. With days before an election, you tip your hand and say you’re re-opening an investigation into one of the candidates; you know what you’re doing. Just like he knew what he was doing when he said that there was nothing they could prosecute on Ms. Clinton during the July presser.

J. Edgar Hoover comes to mind, and I'm certain Trump would not countenance Comey's rising to the level of power and importance that Hoover did.

Is this the newest fact? Does this cancel out his praise for Comey? Or are both things true at the same time?

Well that is a very Trumpian extrapolation.

Was Comey that political? I haven't heard anything from any who know him to support that claim. Nor did he exactly do himself any favors by either his Clinton press conference, or his subsequent notification to Congress that he was reopening the investigation.

Neither seems exactly 'showboating' to me.

Not like the guy who twitters everyday attacking anyone he believes is his enemy- and then insists that everything he does is the HUGEST.....
