Talking to my ex-officer friends, I think it's not Johnson per se, but 1) we can't hold our noses long enough to vote for the other two and 2) his party. The Libertarian ideals more closely match ours whereas both the Democratic and Republican ideals have moved to such extremes, we don't feel represented by them. I think many Independent American voters feel the same way.

Well, I agree that we have a choice to make. We can simply stay at home and not vote. We can vote for Johnson and in effect throw our vote to the wind, or we can go ahead and vote for Trump.
