Town halls gone wild

Whatever, dive.
no, not what ever
it sure seemed like everyone was in agreement
and tell us, do you REALLY want Obamacare to pass without even being read?

you wouldn't know what was read and what wasn't unless you actually LISTEN to what people have to say. And a bunch of folk following instructions written by insurance company lobbyists and screaming like IDIOTS aren;t either listening or discussing.

This isn't about discussion... this is about DISRUPTION....

and perhaps you might want to stop being a dittotype calling it "obamacare" before you can intelligently discuss the issue?

In a nutshell. These are people who have been just waiting in the wings for their moment of opportunity to protest the election of Barack Obama and a Democratic majority. They found an opening and they won't be letting up. This isn't democracy at work; it's mob mentality at work.

Spectoer SAID they didnt have time to read it
what more proof do you really NEED???

Spector said the various drafts have been divided up among his staffers to read and highlight for his benefit. That's the way THEY ALL do it--including the Republicans.

and thats still as lame as it was when Specter said it

Is in a democrat district, so much for this is all caused by those evil right wing republicans, I don't think there are any present in his district.

But apparently only "lame" when a Democrat does, correct?
uh, specter is still a republican untill this next election
and i would have said that no matter WHO said it
it was damned fucking stupid

Regarding Reagan - he was comfortably a net tax reducer during his two terms in office.

What Reagan attempted to do, but was met with rabid opposition, was to form agreements with Democrats to reduce overall spending. The Dems promised to do so if Reagan was willing to work in some forms of tax increases -which Reagan initiated by closing loopholes, while also continueing to reduce the overall rates for all taxpayers. Social Security was bailed out under Reagan - another compromise he forged with the Dems with further promises to curb future spending - promises that were of course, broken.

And so, Reagan continued to chip away at the marginal tax rates so that by the time he left office, the top rate was 28% - down from 70% when he took office. This initiated an era of growth and prosperity that extended far beyond his presidency.

And while the deficit did increase, much of that increase was then remedied in the following years of the "Peace Dividend" - something Reagan believed would happen if the Soviet Union were defeated. Unfortunately, these peace dividend savings were eventually gobbled up by Congress, and later presidents, and an entirely new era of ever increasing debt was initiated.

I miss Reagan...

How's all that hopey changey stuff workin out for ya under a socialist president. I beleive it was Jimmy Carter who initiated the tax on social security benefits.

Tell the truth, dive. How would you react if it were liberals disrupting Republicans' townhalls to the point their opponents or the reps themselves weren't able to speak? How did you feel about Cindy Sheehan's protests? Code Pink? And remember I've known you on forums for years, now ;)

the burden is on you to prove they are

I did by providing a source. You didn't refute what the source presented nor the links within that source - you only attempted to poison the well by disparaging the source. I've met the burden. Can you?
nho, thinkprogress is not a source
its a piece of shit

So....you can't refute the claims this "piece of shit" made?:eusa_eh:
