This is how a Trade War works

More than 50 multinational corporations have announced plans to move manufacturing out of China, or are considering to do so, according to reporting from the Nikkei Asian Review. Apple, Google, Nintendo and Dell, among others, are trying to avoid the import penalties on $250 billion in Chinese goods. But rather than move their operations to the United States, as Trump urged, many of these companies are aiming to rebuild their supply chains abroad, primarily in Southeast Asia.

So, companies moving from one Asian country to different one helps the US how?
What is your answer?

Answer to what?

To 121 straight months of economic expansion? The longest in our history.

To record setting number of months straight of positive job growth?

To sustained low unemployment and more open jobs than people to fill them?

My answer is keep all those things going, and they all happened under the current trade deals

WTF, one day you're pissing and moaning about the "stagnant" stock market, the next you're touting the Trump economy.

Correction, for the last two months you've complained about the stagnant market.

Americans paying for Trumps tariff's has been explained to you OVER AND OVER - like anything else regarding Trump fucking the country, you're too stupid to figure it out.

G'luck -

No matter what China agrees to do, they'll cheat. They won't give up state ownership of business, or stop requiring a 50% ownership of foreign business, or stealing their secrets. The best we can do is to unlink our economy with theirs, import nothing from them, sell them nothing. Without our business, they'd last 3 maybe 4 years before their next cultural revolution and a return to feudal mercantilism.

If we were paying for the tariffs on China, how come we don't have inflation, moron?

'Unlink our economy' with our current largest trading partner! Brilliant! I just love hearing opinions from people with no understanding of trade, our economy or much of anything else! We totally should stop all trade with China, our largest importer. We don't need to build new things. Meh, tech is over rated anyway. In fact, we can just suspend trade altogether. Maybe create a new currency (The "MAGABuck" or "FreedomBuck") made from corn so we can eat them when all our food dries up (No manufacturing = no agriculture). Hell, we could even use them for building materials (No building materials = no homes).

It's soooper refreshing to get the 'deplorable's' take on things. Really coherent reasoning, thanks.

The first is to increase interest rates through the central bank, in the case of the U.S., that's the Federal Reserve. ... When banks increase their rates, fewer people want to borrow money because it costs more to do so while that money accrues at a higher interest. So, spending drops, prices drop and inflation slows.

now gfy Mr econ,

Duh. It affects the Chinese bottom line.

And that helps Americans how?

That creates jobs in the US how?

A global recession helps the US how?
Normally, I would agree that protectionism is a recipe for an economic shit storm.

I do, however, see the benefit in pursuing a protection-free arrangement, using the threat of tariffs as a "stick" as may be necessary. Such a threat should only be employed after a reasonable "carrot" was offered and rejected.

I am not going to sit here and call Trump the greatest deal maker in history. I think he kind of botch this shit, based on what I am seeing. But, I don't blame him for keeping the "stick" option available. I am just wondering what "carrot" he offered first, if anything.

.

So, companies moving from one Asian country to different one helps the US how?

It doesn't.

That creates jobs in the US how?

No U.S. manufacturing jobs, either.

manufacturing and intellectual property.

That's why the cops don't let us make or do or build anything for ourselves in the U.S. anymore.

A global recession helps the US how?

The U.S. economy is dead because people are so full of shit with NAFTA, NATO, TPP, Trilateral, Bilderberg etc.

Socialism and Communism killed it.

Walmart buys $100,000.00 worth of electronics from China - China ships the order, and it enters the country in Los Angles Harbor and is held by customs -

1. Inspection of goods
2. Tariff fees.

who pays those fees before the party that bought them can take delivery ?

China
or
Walmart.

Walmart pays them. So, Walmart raises the price of the product. Customers stop buying the product, Walmart stops ordering the product...who is affected, dumbass.
