How do we make sense of this?

You have simply let the Democrat Media misinterpret for you, completely, what happened the whole time.
Mitch remembers.

“American citizens attacked their own government. They used terrorism to try to stop a specific piece of democratic business they did not like.

“Fellow Americans beat and bloodied our own police. They stormed the Senate floor. They tried to hunt down the Speaker of the House. They built a gallows and chanted about murdering the Vice President.

“They did this because they had been fed wild falsehoods by the most powerful man on Earth — because he was angry he’d lost an election.

“Former President Trump’s actions preceding the riot were a disgraceful dereliction of duty.

“The House accused the former President of, quote, ‘incitement.’ That is a specific term from the criminal law.

“Let me put that to the side for one moment and reiterate something I said weeks ago: There is no question that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of that day.

“The people who stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes and instructions of their President.

Pompous Political Peckerwoods

Jan6 was a huge practical joke, because the political oligarchy is a joke at the expense of the American people. They get outraged when their Beltway cathedral isn't knelt to with devotional veneration.

Your misguided opinion about some prior prez's has nothing to do with how and why Trump's reputation, and that of the 1/6 mob, has been resuscitated. Pay attention.
It's really quite easy to understand. The electorate is souring on the democrats' insane desperation to eliminate not only TRUMP!, but all Republicans, so the 1/6 rioters and TRUMP! are getting sympathy. This country has long had a tradition of favoring the underdog when those in power overreach, and the only people liking what the democrats have been doing politically are already poisoned democrat partisans.

JFC, all roads lead back to ORANGE MAN BAAAAAAD!

For good fucking reason

He was a disaster

42 percent of GOP Iowa caucusgoers say ‘poisoning the blood’ remarks make them more likely to support Trump: poll

Forty-two percent of likely Iowa Republican caucusgoers said that former President Trump’s recent remarks about immigrants “poisoning the blood” of the country makes them more likely to support him, according to a new poll.

The Des Moines Register/NBC News/Mediacom poll asked likely Republican caucusgoers about statements made by the president, including Trump’s recent claim that migrants were “poisoning the blood of our country.” The remarks have been condemned by various figures on both sides of the political aisle and resulted in comparisons between the former president and Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.
