I propose we totally decouple our economy from China...nothing comes in from there. Until the 70's, we produced everything we needed outside of coffee, bananas, and exotic sports cars. Let's do it again....imagine the scramble to open new businesses to replace the crap China sends us....we'd be at 100% employment in a year. Imagine the tax revenue that would generate....possibly enough to save us from default on the national debt. We made our clothing in the Carolinas with Alabama cotton. We made our electronics in California and throughout the midwest. We made our own gasoline, our own steel, from our own iron ore. We made our own shoes in New England and our own chainsaws and lawnmowers. China would still have to import our food products so our trade balance with them would turn into a massive surplus. Same thing with Japan.....either buy American or we'll seize your American factories and lock you out. Where did Dell and HP start building their computers? right here and can again. Who will miss an $8 Chinese hammer when Craftsman returns to the USA? I won't miss poison dog food and baby formula or pesticide-soaked wallboard and impure and often dangerous drugs. It's not a hard world to imagine...it's how it used to be before the "new world order" thieves sold us out.

Walmart’s financial records show it collected $3.9 trillion in net sales between 2005 and 2014. In 2013, the company committed to purchasing $250 billion in American-made goods by 2023 – just 6 percent of its net sales over the past decade (5% in 2014).

If Walmart continues to grow at the same rate, in 2023 the company will spend just 3.2 percent on American-made goods.
