This is a No Win proposition for the GOP

Maybe you should show a little cause and effect here because while Bush was president job creation was essentially flat as millions of good paying jobs were replaced with crap jobs along with negative adjusted wage growth culminating with the worse recession in our lifetimes. Things were not good during the 00s no matter how you want to frame them as awesome prosperity the democrats ruined.
Yawn.

US Personal Income, 1969-2009 | The Big Picture

I could go on and on. By every measure the years 2000-2006 were far better than the years 2007-2012. Spin it any way you want. You are simply incorrect.

Not by every measure, a simple graph of employment numbers does not show that a lot of people were thrown out of good jobs and had to take crap jobs or that wages showed negative growth or that medical bankruptcy went through the roof along with deficit spending, consumer credit rates, CDO scams and mortgage fraud. The economy was packed with ticking time bombs and when it all went south the democrats were there as a convenient scapegoat despite being all but ignored on many of these issues for a long time.

I'm sure you have a credible link with stats for your contention that people were thrown out of good jobs for crap jobs. Now they can't even get crap jobs.

Since you seem to have developed amnesia about the massive exodus of middle class jobs overseas during the awesome Bush years I am not sure a link will help you.

Translation: I have nothing but rhetoric to back me up.
For every job outsourced overseas there was 3 created here.

I had a link when I said that, It's not hard to find this information I just didn't think you would like it since only left leaning publications seem to report on things like this, but here it is, reject it out of hand like a moron and move on with your fantasy world.

Overworked America: 12 Charts That Will Make Your Blood Boil | Mother Jones

The "rich" have already been soaked, and aside from that they owe you nothing..............

Not your imaginary "fair share", not a living, not a care......................

Begging for dollars will help your life peon,............really it will

The rich have not been "soaked", they have been coddled for a generation with tax cuts, financial deregulation, free passes to run Wall Street like a crooked mob casino, subservient politicians and the incredible luxury of a government that represents their interests and what has it gotten us? I mean all of us? Fair would be ceasing all trickle down programs immediately and taxing them into poverty as so many of their reckless business practices have led to for millions of Americans.

Indeed, corporations should be replaced with non profit social communes, for the people !!!

Yeah, that, and all Government workers should be cut to minimum wage. ;)

Yeah I like my nuclear plant inspectors to be poor and eminently bribeable.

Yeah, wedded to facts and truth. You ought to try it sometime instead of smoking the kool aid.

Maybe you can explain why the rich deserve continued handouts in the name of job creation?

Its almost as if that lost tax revenue belonged to the govt to begin with...........FASCINATING

It's almost as if you think tax cuts should be eternal and irreversible, The Bush tax cuts were a temporary program, we extended them four more years for no good reason. Other than your ideological aversion to taxation you cannot give a fiscal dollars and cents reason to continue them. You cannot say they are creating jobs or stimulating the economy or anything other than letting them lapse are some kind of loss for your ideology.

good with that attitude you'll accept the fact that it's now time for ALL Americans to pay some damn taxes, no exceptions no excuses, no exemptions. we're making progress.

If they were done for no reason then why did the Democratic Congress pass it and why did Obama sign it?
Do Democrats ever take responsibility for anything?

Because republicans were holding the middle class portion hostage at the time silly person. I would have no problem with the cuts for the rich if they actually spent the money they saved on taxes in the American economy but they don't so why keep them and why continue to claim they are stimulative? Tax cuts for the working and middle classes are stimulative because it all gets spent on large purchases as soon as the refund check lands in the mailbox but the rich and the banks are hoarding cash like scrooge and tax cuts for them is taking money out of the economy and locking it up in a vault.

They can drag their feet and whine, but it will be their heads on the chopping block in 2014. Why are they protecting the rich, while trying to slam the poor SS recipients? WOW! Political suicide before our very eyes! :clap2:

What the President is calling for is a tax raise on the wealthy that will only bring in enough revenue (in a best case scenario!) to fund the government for about 8 days but could very well slow down the economy to such an extent that a resulting loss of revenue could negate even that small amount.

At the same time Obama's promising that if he's given his tax increases that SOME TIME IN THE FUTURE HE'LL MAKE SOME UNDISCLOSED SPENDING CUTS!

You think that's a loser for the Republicans? For the life of me I can't see why. When Barry is serious about fixing what's wrong with the country, then get back to me. All he's doing right now is pretending to do something...while doing nothing.

Barack Obama and the Democrats extended the Bush tax cuts because they understood that not doing so would result in an already tepid economy slowing down even more. What they are doing now...raising taxes in the midst of a STILL slowed economy makes ZERO sense from an economic perspective. It's stupid fiscal policy and it will not grow the economy and it will not put people back to work.

Obamacare taxes kick in, and rates go up.

Yeah, this is going to be great for the economy

You spout off about Republicans holding people "hostage", which is a bunch of hogwash while completely ignoring the fact that President Obama and the Democrats are holding millions of out of work and under employed Americans hostage with their fiscal policies. The tax raise on the wealthy and the looming ObamaCare taxes that are about to kick in? You think ANY of that is going to help those poor bastards that have been out of work for YEARS now? Where is the concern for them?

How soon they forget. Republicans were not going to allow the cuts to expire on the wealthy and keep them for everyone else even though the crash was barely a speed bump for the really wealthy people while the rest of us experienced the largest contraction of wealth since the great depression.

The solidly Democratic Congress did not need a single GOP vote to pass any piece of legislation they wanted.
Try again.

Where the hell is your concern? You are going insane over the fact that the rich might have to pay what they did before we went on a 13 year ride to "free" market Hell. The rich will be fine with the old tax rate, they will hardly even notice them, but the rest of the country is pretty much in a hole and all half of our elected officials can do is close ranks around the only Americans who do not need help right now.
