The Vatican's Position On Gay Marriage: Hispanic Vote Counters Take Note

And in related news, as if this would come as a shock to anyone:

The Islamic Society of North America:
Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi of the ISNA said: "Homosexuality is a moral disorder. It is a moral disease, a sin and corruption... No person is born homosexual, just like no one is born a thief, a liar or murderer. People acquire these evil habits due to a lack of proper guidance and education.""
"There are many reasons why it is forbidden in Islam. Homosexuality is dangerous for the health of the individuals and for the society. It is a main cause of one of the most harmful and fatal diseases. It is disgraceful for both men and women. It degrades a person. Islam teaches that men should be men and women should be women. Homosexuality deprives a man of his manhood and a woman of her womanhood. It is the most un-natural way of life. Homosexuality leads to the destruction of family life." Islam and Homosexuality

Not only was Friday's Ruling a wrong ruling, a legally-dysfunctional ruling (Hobby Lobby vs LGBT coming soon), and a ruling that damaged democracy (right of the majority to regulate BEHAVIORS), it was potentially a dangerous decision as well. I understand that muslims executed four gay men in "celebration" of Friday's Ruling. I wonder if that made Kennedy's tea go cold? If it was left up to the states, the hope at least would be in the eyes of our enemies the West would have a chance at coming to our senses morally. Now it's just "Americans are the SUPER infidels". Like the exclamation point was just added to their sentence by 5 drooling idiots in DC last Friday.

And who gives a fuck? No one...
You may, on January 20, 2017...

Hyper-Liberal sleaze-bags may have finally figured a way to get Hispanics to vote Republican...

Well done... very well done, indeed...

Holy Mother Church has no vote, but it does, indeed, influence Roman Catholics, around the world...

Including those millions upon millions of Hispanics whose Machismo cultural heritage is highly receptive to such messages in support of Righteousness over Wickedness...

And, besides Roman Catholic blacks and whites, such righteous criticism will resonate well with many more...

Including those millions upon millions of African-Americans whose Straight cultural heritage is highly receptive to such messages in support of Righteousness over Wickedness...

Including that vast subset of White America that shuns WIckedness - sexual deviancy and perversion (a.k.a. homosexuality) - in favor of Righteousness...

Add all that together and you've got a nervous future for the Democratic National Committee...

Autocratic decrees oftentimes wear thing, when it comes time for The People to have their say...

One piece of Judicial Activism too many, perhaps...

We will know, soon enough...

This could be fun...
Unlikely.

The idea that those racial groups votes based on SSM is rather misplaced at best. There is no indication that I see that the ruling or continued spread will change their votes.

Fact is that most Americans have no idea whatsoever what the issues are anyway and SSM is not going to change heavily ingrained voting patterns. The right is going to have to work HARD to gain more minority votes and opposing SSM is not going to help them in that arena IMHO.

FA_Q2 They have just been rejogged back to life. This is going to cost votes. The Vatican is going to weigh in on this because they want to harvest the momentum of disgust. Friday's Ruling was the silent thunder of millions of purple feet shifting to the right..

Catholic voters say they support the freedom to marry by an even larger margin (59% to 29%), and Catholic voters who say they attend church "frequently" support marriage for same-sex couples 50% to 35%). (The Wall Street Journal/NBC, March 2012)

In Catholic belief, "marriage is a faithful, exclusive and lifelong union between one man and one woman, joined as husband and wife in an intimate partnership of life and love," the 47-bishop committee said in a statement released Sept. 10.

"What are called 'homosexual unions,' because they do not express full human complementarity and because they are inherently nonprocreative, cannot be given the status of marriage," the committee said.

It warned that "the importance of marriage for children and for society" is under attack in U.S. courts and legislatures and in popular culture and entertainment media, which "often undermine or ignore the essential role of marriage and promote equivalence between marriage and homosexual relationships."

The Vatican's Biblical Enforcement Policy isn't up for a vote or to stay current with the latest fads. Noting the part in bold, those wishing to entice hispanics to vote democratic should seriously consider dropping their rainbow arm bands.

Because unless the LGBT cult has plans to jail priests at Sunday and Saturday masses for reminding their flock of their essential duty to their faith and God, things could get really weird at the polls for dems in 2016.

Question: if someone offered to make a $25 bet with you on whether the majority of Hispanic vote will be Republican, would you take it on the side of that happening?

I understand what you say but... you think they really care what the Vatican says?

I doubt it

it's all about freebies....if the Devil itself gives them freebies that's the one they will vote for.

It's human nature sadly.

That depends. If the GOP shoots the momentum in the cradle and starts (continues) spouting about border fences etc. etc. then maybe not. But at this point all they have to do is shut their mouths and lean to the middle and 2016 for them is in the bag.

A majority of hispanics in this country support same sex marriage.

The percentage of hispanic Catholics who support same sex marriage is higher than hispanics as a whole.

Ok. So let's change it around a little. I'm going to make the following proposal of a wager. You get $25 if the majority of the Hispanics vote Republican. If not, you pay me $15. Interested?

Have fun taking that one to the bank. That was BEFORE their right to vote on homosexual marriage was stripped away from them. Tell someone to shut up and duct tape their mouth for good measure and they have a funny way of changing their mind. My quesiton about your dubious poll is "how rigorously did they support gay marriage in front of the pollster that day?" Were they just mouthing support to keep from getting stink eye from someone in their midst (maybe the pollster him/herself)? Or was a very deep and compelling conviction? Because if it was the former instead of the latter, you've got a crap shoot on your hands in 2016. And unless I miss my guess, the Vatican is going to have a comment or two about Friday's Ruling.

So let's see, where will hispanics lean after the conversation ground to a halt (in the privacy of the voting both where it's just them and God)? 1. The pushy pollster that day your poll was taken? or 2. The priest that just told him at mass the week before that his eternal soul will perish forever in the fires of hell if he supports anyone who would not roll back this immoral judicial fiat?

Speaking of bets. Where would you put your money on that one?

What does that theoretically mean here? I'm really actually willing to make the wager. I'm highly interested in people putting their money where their mouth is. It is a very useful way of telling if people actually believe their claimed models of things.

That might be a reasonable bet to make, although I think you are somewhat overconfident. I generally stick to small bets both because people are better at paying them out purely out of honor even to strangers, and because my wife isn't exactly happy when I bet larger quantities. It also isn't as helpful for such bets for actually telling how much people believe their claims.

You bigots had your little "the spics are going to love us now" fantasy ripped from you, and now look at you doing flips and twists to get it back! BWA-HA-HA-HA!

The results on same sex marriage were unsettling. The poll found that Catholic attitudes were again consistent with the rest of the population. Fifty-six percent of all respondents – and 60 percent of Catholics — support same sex marriage. However, what was disappointing was that a majority of Catholics (53 percent) who attend Mass weekly support same sex marriage.

With Little Fanfare, Mexican Supreme Court Legalizes Same-Sex Marriage
In ruling after ruling, the court has said that state laws restricting marriage to heterosexuals are discriminatory.

Then I guess the Vatican is alseep at the wheel. They might want to crack open the Bible every now and then. Runs in my mind somewhere that they are the mouthpiece of the religion. As far as I'm concerned, that silence is on par with them approving silently of catholics getting abortions.

Their silence so far might have been bought by the blackmail in 2013/2014 and the first Pope unthroned by force in 700 years. All those hard nosed Italians are afraid of a little scandal? Seems a venial sin admitted is far preferable to a mortal sin propagated by silence..
