Let's be homest for a minute -

The United States has vowed to defend Taiwan from China; however, the battle for Taiwan is already over. The US has ZERO chance of protecting / defending Taiwan from China.

Recently while US political representatives visited Taiwan, China held a massive military exercise during which it completely surrounded Taiwan with a huge naval force that included several carriers.

Had China wanted to it could have seized control of Taiwan in less than an hour, and there is little we could have done about it.

We have carriers in the region...SO WHAT?!

With its new hypersonic missiles they call 'Carrier Destroyers' (a VERY accurate name), not only is Taiwan in danger but so is the US' naval power / force projection capability in that region.

China could very well take Taiwan and that entire naval region ... very quickly.

This past weekend, during an intetview, several top Navy commanders acknowledged this, stating the US has no answer for hypersonic weapons.
- Now its being reported China may hace a hypersonic drone that can carry weapons.

The US f*ed around, cancelled our own hypersonic reseatch years ago and our military power - our national security - is now in jeopardy.

While China is possibly making our navy obsolete, Obama and Democrats have been working hard to undermine, weaken, and destroy our military, reducing our recruitment and retention capabilities, further weakening the Uas and endangering our national security.

At the sane time Biden continues to make deals and moves to make China stronger and the US more dependent on China.

On top of all of our other challenges, thanks to Biden, we are drawing closer to possible war with China with a depleted national oil resetve and dangerously low stockpile of critical weapons and munitions.

One of the biggest signs Biden has no intention of keeping the US' promise to defend Taiwan is his refusal to allow crtical weapons Taiwan bought YEARS ago be delivered to Taiwan so they can at least defend themselves ...

...for a few minutes.

What I've read is focused on the massive amount of munitions / ammunition we've given to Ukraine, that has left our stockpiles in jeopardy with a ramp up time to replenish (e.g. only 2 suppliers of 155MM rounds, which we've supplied 1.5M to Ukraine). Good 'ol Biden's proxy war with Russia ..

Different wars

Ukraine is fighting a land war against Russian tanks and artillery

Taiwan would be fighting off an invading naval force

Different weapons

China will land on Taiwan .. Taiwan only has 166K active duty military and 1.6 million in reserve... and China has the world's largest standing army and navy with 2 million active soldiers. War between Taiwan and China would leave the U.S. Military devastated .. without 155MM Rounds ..

Even simulators are predicting these types of outcomes .. and as of now .. the U.S. is unprepared for a long-war.

Taiwan would kick Chinas ass

The US would provide air and naval support
There would be next-to-no sustained popular support for such an action. I'm sorry to say. But it's what, 15,000 miles away, a minor trading partner, and it's in China's backyard. Its nice to think about defending them with American military power but it isn't going to be sustainable because of public opinion. Now if it is proceeded by some 9/11 type event where China attacks us...that may be a different kettle of fish. We went into Afghanistan to root out those who attacked us on 9/11. SIDEBAR: I can't wait for some neanderthal to argue that "Afghanistan didn't attack us." Afghanistan harbored those who did. We went in and took care of it. We should have left the afternoon after Obama got Bin Laden. But our occupation was approved by the public because of 9/11. Absent of some such attack...China will not be seen as someone we have to stop at-all-costs.

People were. saying the same about Ukraine the hour after Russia attacked. Even after British and American intelligence warned Europe, the arrogant Europeans brisked at the possibility, so the answers are rarely known so clearly. I believe China could win such a war of course, but it may take !onger and come at a greater cost then some imagine. The !onger it takes, the more resistance Taiwan and the world can muster. I am on the fence as to rather Chiina will attack, at least in the short tern, it depends on so many factors. Macron certainly is no ally of Taiwan...maybe China has some material on him he doesn't want released?

Re-read my post again. China could take Taiwan in an hour.

Compro.ised Niden will put up zero effort to defend Taiwan.

As long as the one country - two systems is respected, there is ABSOLUTELY no reason for Taiwan and China to go to war. But fearmongering (especially promoted by the USA) always pays off for their military industry.

Seems easy……China has such a huge military after all

Russia taking Ukraine seemed easy too and Ukraine was right on their border. China must land a force over 100 miles of ocean. Keep in mind China has never engaged in modern warfare and has never executed an amphibious landing.

Taiwan has 13 beaches suitable for a landing. All are surrounded by mountains making getting your force off the beach difficult.

A Chinese landing force would face mines, torpedos, anti-ship missiles, submarines and air attacks

It could be done, but given Chinas lack of experience in amphibious landings and difficulty in logistically supporting a landing force, it would be very difficult and costly

Yeah...China isn't being aggressive at all.

You guys really need therapy.

Chinas navy is untested, and inexperienced. Even their carriers are diesel. And lack the range and dwell time of American Aircraft carriers. Even their carrier launched fighters can’t get off the deck with a full payload. So far all I’m seeing with this great Chinese navy is shades of the Spanish Armada…
