The US Has ZERO Chance Of Defending Taiwan, Naval Power In That Region Now In Jeopardy

Are you that ignorant to realize we spent $2 trillion in Afghanistan and still survived?

The question you should be asking is where is your boy Putin going to come up with the money to continue his war?
Blah blah blah .. Afghanistan, and it's treacherous withdrawal orchestrated by Biden, is nearly 2 years over. Although .. there were 6 - 7 Billion dollars of munitions and military gear left for the Taliban to profit ... munitions that we could have had in our arsenal.

So…..tell us more how your boy Putin is going to replace all that ordnance he is using?
How is Putin going to replace his tanks?

Your Russian bot posts are not going to do it

LOL .. Russian bot post = Non Player Character response .. beep .. beep .. bhop .. Putin ..

Ukraine provides no value .. and no goal has been communicated by the Biden administration ... yet Biden continues to dump billions of dollars into Ukraine, depleting the US reserves ... and all you have to say is .. Putin ..?

Maybe Hunter can take over with leadership on that Ukraine energy company now ..

Its a serious threat
But I dont think we are defenseless
:itsok:

Then you have not been listening to the experts - politicians, Intel experts, military, etc... - during interviews when discussing this issue.

Nice try Comrade

Ukraine has much value to the West. Once they join NATO, which will be your boy Putin’s worst nightmare, NATO will have three new members bordering Russia.

Ukraine is taking care of one of our largest threats in the last 75 years. All without US a boots on the ground.

Money well spent

Let's be homest for a minute -

The United States has vowed to defend Taiwan from China; however, the battle for Taiwan is already over. The US has ZERO chance of protecting / defending Taiwan from China.

Recently while US political representatives visited Taiwan, China held a massive military exercise during which it completely surrounded Taiwan with a huge naval force that included several carriers.

Had China wanted to it could have seized control of Taiwan in less than an hour, and there is little we could have done about it.

We have carriers in the region...SO WHAT?!

With its new hypersonic missiles they call 'Carrier Destroyers' (a VERY accurate name), not only is Taiwan in danger but so is the US' naval power / force projection capability in that region.

China could very well take Taiwan and that entire naval region ... very quickly.

This past weekend, during an intetview, several top Navy commanders acknowledged this, stating the US has no answer for hypersonic weapons.
- Now its being reported China may hace a hypersonic drone that can carry weapons.

The US f*ed around, cancelled our own hypersonic reseatch years ago and our military power - our national security - is now in jeopardy.

While China is possibly making our navy obsolete, Obama and Democrats have been working hard to undermine, weaken, and destroy our military, reducing our recruitment and retention capabilities, further weakening the Uas and endangering our national security.

At the sane time Biden continues to make deals and moves to make China stronger and the US more dependent on China.

On top of all of our other challenges, thanks to Biden, we are drawing closer to possible war with China with a depleted national oil resetve and dangerously low stockpile of critical weapons and munitions.

One of the biggest signs Biden has no intention of keeping the US' promise to defend Taiwan is his refusal to allow crtical weapons Taiwan bought YEARS ago be delivered to Taiwan so they can at least defend themselves ...

...for a few minutes.

So the automatic response to dissenting against Biden's proxy war is ... a Putin supporter? That's a pretty weak argument... and unfortunately, you are wrong, as recent leaks have identified a small contingent of U.S. forces in Ukraine. Regardless, Russian has already demonstrated how weak their military was while occupying Afghanistan ... and with Biden's proxy war, a weak Army can still push a button to launch it's nuclear power.

How much does Putin pay you to post?
You are not very good at it

We drove most of the Russian bots off of USMB
Why are you still here?

Gee a right winger defending the opponents of the United States.... How unsurprising.
I don't see China being an opponent or enemy of the USA - they are natural competing countries (just as any other country) and will make use of any means (except war) to further their own economic advantage.
China's government and society has far more in common with the Conservatives and Republicans - then with the destructive forces of libs&lefties destroying the USA and all other western countries. Due to China always having been a commerce oriented country for more then 2000 years, they are far more interested in a strong economic USA - then as to what the present run down USA represents.

I have been paying attention and the problem is not as cut and dried as chinese and russian bots would have us believe

For one thing the Pentagon is not foolish enough to reveal all its secrets just to reassure you and me

But there are two sides to every story

China will land on Taiwan .. Taiwan only has 166K active duty military and 1.6 million in reserve... and China has the world's largest standing army and navy with 2 million active soldiers. War between Taiwan and China would leave the U.S. Military devastated .. without 155MM Rounds ..

Even simulators are predicting these types of outcomes .. and as of now .. the U.S. is unprepared for a long-war.

Yeah, but how would they get their 2 million solders to Taiwan? They simply don't have the landing craft.

This would be a naval battle.

China has one of the largest air forces in the world .. uh .. they aren't limited to their navy and amphibious assault. They are getting on the island ..

That's not something I'd bet on being true.

How would artillery shells come into play with aircraft? We're discussing the US artillery shell reserve and how it relates to a potential invasion of China.

China will use their navy, amphibious assaults, air craft and paratroopers. They will gain access to Taiwan .. why is this difficult to understand?

Okay. Based on what evidence?

Also, Taiwan is a hundred miles from mainland china. That's 5 times the English channel.

With the landing craft ludicrously vulnerable for hours. If the invasion were easy or even plausible, China would have done it by now.

Not with 2 million troops they won't. They would attack Taiwan with a fraction of a fraction of that, as they don't have the landing craft, they don't have the paratroopers.

They've got 40,000 paratroopers. Tops. And only a fraction of that would successfully land. They've got a grand total of 1 amphibious assault ship; the Hainan.

You're vastly overwestimating CHina's capacity to put boots on the ground. Even as far as 100 miles away. China's inability to effectively project power is while it still cedes global leadership to the US.

Because the US can come and get you in any ocean, and hundreds of miles inland from any ocean coast. And that's without its numerous bases. Add those in.....and the US is a nation you just don't want to fuck with. We've got bases in South Korea and Japan that are within 300 miles of the Chinese coast; almost all of the most heavily populated and most resource rich regions of China.

China doesn't shit in our *hemisphere*.

And China knows this.
