When unemployment is less than 5%, corporations are flush with cash and there are a record more than 6 million jobs unfilled, what exactly were these tax cuts for the rich supposed to do?

Some companies are giving a few of their employees some small bonus while laying off others. yet Republicans will point to this as "proof" their tax cuts for the rich "worked".

But seriously, if the stock market is setting records, companies have trillions in cash, and there are millions and millions of unfilled jobs, then what was the point of these tax cuts for the rich? What is it they think they will change?

That's not exactly correct.

General open market trading consists mostly of investors exchanging already-issued shares of stock. Accordingly, most observed increases in stock prices indicate investors' expectations about the future profitability of a given company. Only IPO and subsequent issuances of stock directly put cash in companies pockets. Open price increases resulting from market trading enhances a company's ability to borrow money and they increase the potential sums of money a company can obtain if it opts to issue additional shares of stock. That last bit is why in publicly traded companies' financial statements and notes to the financial one sees mentioned the quantity of shares issued and outstanding.
Once a company obtains money via the issuance of stock, it may do with that money as its board (or on occasion, majority of stockholders) sees fit. It may hold it or it may spend it. Consequently, one cannot asset that because stock prices rise in general or for a specific company that company is flush with cash.

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought it was obvious. Guess not.

If the economy is doing so well that there are millions and millions of unfilled jobs, what is it these tax cuts for the rich are supposed to do beyond what is already happening.

Did that help?

Not as entertaining as watching trickle down stall.

Trickle down doesn't exist, R-Derp! It's something invented by liberals to try and denigrate Supply Side economic theory! Anyone who knows anything about business knows that profits don't trickle down...they trickle up! Every time you use the term "trickle down" you show your ignorance!

The GOP tax scam is solely designed to provide Republicans with perceived political cover, nothing more.
The tax "scam", as you call it, provides significant tax relief to almost all Americans. Further, it focuses on the middle class. If you want to call keeping a campaign promise, helping middle class taxpayers, and invigorating our economy "political cover", you ain't seen nothing yet!!

Typical Deanie boy post......rooting for America to fail.

There is something seriously wrong with him. .... :cuckoo:
Tax cuts for billionaires won't help the economy. It never did.

Republicans fuk America up the a$$ and then act outraged when America says it wasn't "good".

Don't worry, the GOP didn't fail. They got us good, real good. And they know it.

Only a blinders wearing "progressive" such as your self would describe letting Americans keep more of the money they earn as doing them up the ass, R-Derp!
