The USSR didn't completely collapse. The REAL economy in Russia and most of the former Eastern Block is/was the black market which is still going strong.

That will never be our future. It takes hundreds of thousands of corrupt officials and police looking the other way for such an institution to survive. I believe we are a nation of law abiding citizens for the most part and will remain so for whatever comes along.
