SOooo...whatcha think; is Speaker Boehner going to attempt a push a budget agreement thru Congress (raising the nation’s debt ceiling)? Plus possibly a major infrastructure bill before his departure?

<On Capitol Hill, the conservatives who had again felled one of their leaders rallied to name the terms for the next person to wield the speaker’s gavel.>

< His resignation is likely to herald an even more combative stretch in the nation’s capital, emboldening conservatives to defy Mr. Obama on looming decisions regarding spending, debt and taxes.>

<Uncompromising conservatives on and off Capitol Hill are demanding the elevation of one of their own to confront the president at every turn. And lawmakers who had pressed to get rid of Mr. Boehner warned Friday that they would not buckle in their defense of those spending limits, even in response to veto threats by Mr. Obama that could lead to a Christmastime stalemate and government shutdown.>

In otherwords - expect this Republican-led Congress to accomplish absolutely nothing - not even necessary infrastructure repairs.

I look for Boehner to attempt to do something to head off the shutdown over raising the debt ceiling coming up at the end of the year. That would be a disaster for the for the republicans to face in an election year.

We need a Congress to tell Obama he should finish the rest of his term Chooming, golfing and hoisting 5 lb weights

We should decrease our military budget(Now I do support a big and powerful military but we can't be the worlds policeman), stop infusing tens of billions into the stock market and investigate the real cause of the debt. Infrastructure, science institutions, r&d investment, education, etc never added a cent to it.

We should also end reaganism and raise taxes on the top 10%.

Spending more on things we need here in America,,,while working to be the best once again is something we must do.

Congress presents the budget, it would be the president who vetoes it and causes the shut down.

And if House republicans shutdown government again it will reflect poorly on them again; even a tedious partisan hack like McConnell knows this, and wants desperately to avoid it.

Yep,,,,

It shuts down the national parks, our warning for storms, research grants, research done by science institutions, funding for infrastructure, etc. It very much hurts millions of people and they will vote democrat.

Now govern as no extremist shit will become law between now and 2017.

Keep the government open and our investments flowing...If not then get ready to be called harmful to America's ability to compete in the world.

We shouldn't be involved in "the world" nevermind competing in it.

You want some cheese with that whine?

Here's a radical idea:

Congressional republicans do the right thing for a change, fund the Federal government for the entire fiscal year, drop this moronic nonsense about 'defunding' Planned Parenthood, and pursue sound, responsible governance rather than placing ideology over country.

You don't need government to forecast weather, private companies are doing a fine job at no expense to us.

Maybe you should pull you head out of your ass.

They haven't accomplished anything since Obama got in office, apart from harming veterans and shutting down the government.
