The Oceans are Warming Faster than Previously Thought; Rate of Heat Build-up Accelerating

^ If you look at that graph and squint your eyes, it looks like monster eyes. But on the topic, no one really knows what the Earths climate is going to do long range, because the data set we use to come to premature conclusions is far far too limited to conclude from. One can only hope they are still recording factual data for the future.
It never ceases to amaze me how many times they try this parlor trick.
We have a data set more than 150 years old? Where? Or is pretending to have something you don't and trying to prove it the parlor trick you speak of?

Well.. Mann took paleo records of 300-500 year spatial resolution and then tacked on the short thermometer record cutting it off at 1960 (at 5 year spatial resolution) then attaching his tree ring proxy temperature reconstruct (at one year resolutions) creating the Hokey Schtick. Its quite the trick .. Make up a data line that has three breaks, differing spatial resolutions, and rapid rise on the end. (we were cooling in 1988 and the current data at that time didn't fit the narrative) the reason Mann cut it off at 1960 and inserted his made up data..

Then he hid his data, methods, and reasoning, which to this day he has refused to release.

Your post and your graph prove nothing. Your "scientists" have an extremely limited data set to work with, and in terms of planetary age, it falls way short.

Matthew's paper is talking about something that is happening NOW. Your "it's not ancient" bullshit simply has no bearing here (not that it has any bearing outside a museum).
The paper is total bull shit!

The Oceans are Warming Faster than Previously Thought; Rate of Heat Build-up Accelerating
So we keep hearing this phrase in the sciences — faster than we thought. In the context of global warming, it’s not a phrase we want to hear. And when the world’s largest heat sink — the oceans — are warming up faster than we thought, that’s kind of a big deal.

******

According to new research published today in Science Advances, the world’s oceans are warming up at an overall rate that is 13% faster than previously thought. Study authors used a new methodology to gain a more refined picture of overall ocean warming. And the results were unfortunately stark. For in addition to the oceans having gained more heat, the study also found that the rate of ocean warming is accelerating.

(Total ocean heat gain in the top 2000 meters as found in Improved estimates of ocean heat content from 1960 to 2015.)

The American taliban ignores the reality of it but it just keeps on proving them as idiots!
/--- Reminds me of the ginned up charts about the World Trade center being blown up by demolition bombs and a missile hitting the pentagon and not a plane. "STEEL DON"T MELT."

Golly gee, I never said anything was "not ancient", that's how you're trying say that I claim something other then I am.

Interesting....According to a paper recently published titled:
A paleo-perspective on ocean heat content: Lessons from the Holocene and Common Era

A paleo-perspective on ocean heat content: Lessons from the Holocene and Common Era

The ocean heat content looks like this:

Holocene-Cooling-Western-Pacific-Warm-Pool-OHC-2.jpg

Holocene-Cooling-Northeastern-Atlantic-OHC-Rosenthal-17.jpg

Holocene-Cooling-Equatorial-Atlantic-SST-Rosenthal-17.jpg

We can only hope that the oceans are warming because if they continue to cool as they have been for a good long while, we are heading for another ice age...personally, I would rather thrive in the warmth than die of starvation in the cold...

Rosenthal notes that we are at the stored energy tipping point of going into the next glacial phase. I am happy with a bit of warming that will slow this process. I also think that man kind would not fare to well if we did fall into the next glacial cycle

Fascinating examples on this thread of incredibly ignorant denier cult retards denying some actual science that they are too mentally incompetent to understand in the first place. Those poor bamboozled dupes!

The combined average temperature over global land and ocean surfaces for February 2016 was the highest for February in the 137-year period of record, at 1.21°C (2.18°F) above the 20th century average of 12.1°C (53.9°F).

Conservatives think observational science is one big lie and fraud. I cry for these people as they'll end up destroying America as a world power and leaving us in a state that looks kind of like the congo.

Matthew, you poor dupe...you want observational science, then observe...take yourself a good look at cricks global warming map...doesn't it strike you as odd that the hottest places on earth..those that are breaking all the records are the very places where climate science is "filling in" because of the lack of surface stations? And so it has been for decades...all those record hot years by fractions of fractions of degrees are due to those hot spots that are entirely made up...you people are either bald faced liars of the worst sort or you are among the stupidest people on the planet.

How about providing graphics that actually label both axes? And why are all your datasets for isolated locations? Are we supposed to put them all together on our own? We're certainly not going to trust you to do it. I'm going to ask Mr Google what he can tell me about your pretty pictures.

The first and the last are in thousands of years, Rosenthal et al's article on the Holocene. The one in the middle is in years.

Both axes are labeled...learn to read a graph...and it is funny you should complain about axes when your favorite "proof" of back radiation doesn't label both axes...

Hopefully mr goole gives a rat's ass and will tell you all about them...you really don't warrant any extra instruction so long as you claim to be a fake engineer.

The time axes on all three are unlabeled you overboiled egotistical buffoon.

Nope! Sorry, you foolish little retard, but the consequent rising sea levels means no more beaches for anyone.

SO color of the wave and its spectral wave length... Still doesn't prove anything about AGW as it can not identify what the receiving mass will do with the energy..
