The New Nationwide Crime Wave

In arguably the most liberal city in the country San Francisco, black women make up 6% of the population but commit nearly 50% of female crime.
Good luck having an honest conversation about that fact.
.
Its the elephant in the room they won't discuss. Another is the vast amount of crime illegals commit. Rape, robbery, murder, they took over meth trafficking and string out our young people on that crap, they ignore our laws, drive under the influence with no insurance maiming and killing our citizens. When was the last time you heard a politician on either side addressing this?
They're terrified to. The Democrats don't want to annoy an important voting bloc and the Republicans are too intimidated by the threat of being called racists.

Our "leaders" have to lead on this, and they don't have the balls, they're more concerned with fundraising and re-election.

This is just another example of why term limits are needed.

.
How does term limits solve anything? What exactly do you think they should be doing instead of what is going on today?
I just described how term limits might help in this situation - politicians wouldn't be afraid of saying/doing the wrong thing and not getting re-elected.

If some well-known politicians from both parties had the balls to stop pointing the finger at the other side and start admonishing theirs to clean their own houses, that might create the momentum that will be needed. And part of that momentum might be other "leaders", from entertainment to sports to clergy.

.

Ok, I hire you as my financial adviser. In so doing I tell you that no matter how well you have done you will be fired in 2 or 4 years. Or would you rather me say, I will evaluate what you have done and will continue with you until I am unhappy with your performance.

"politicians wouldn't be afraid of saying/doing the wrong thing and not getting re-elected"

Isn't that what we really want out of people that work for us? If they had term limits is the natural result will be they no longer care if they say or do something wrong?

In my opinion, an educated electorate would be more effective.

The idea might apply to some, but not at least where their positions are the apex of their careers. It's a matter of legacy for anyone with an iota of respect.

Come to think of it, good post!;)

Questions: What is the cause. Who is effected the most. Who are the perpetrators and what can be done.

The New Nationwide Crime Wave - WSJ

The consequences of the ‘Ferguson effect’ are already appearing. The main victims of growing violence will be the inner-city poor.

The nation’s two-decades-long crime decline may be over. Gun violence in particular is spiraling upward in cities across America. In Baltimore, the most pressing question every morning is how many people were shot the previous night. Gun violence is up more than 60% compared with this time last year, according to Baltimore police, with 32 shootings over Memorial Day weekend. May has been the most violent month the city has seen in 15 years.

In Milwaukee, homicides were up 180% by May 17 over the same period the previous year. Through April, shootings in St. Louis were up 39%, robberies 43%, and homicides 25%. “Crime is the worst I’ve ever seen it,” said St. Louis Alderman Joe Vacarro at a May 7 City Hall hearing.

Murders in Atlanta were up 32% as of mid-May. Shootings in Chicago had increased 24% and homicides 17%. Shootings and other violent felonies in Los Angeles had spiked by 25%; in New York, murder was up nearly 13%, and gun violence 7%.

Those citywide statistics from law-enforcement officials mask even more startling neighborhood-level increases. Shooting incidents are up 500% in an East Harlem precinct compared with last year; in a South Central Los Angeles police division, shooting victims are up 100%.
It's the new age of racism, depression, frustration, the sense of hopelessness and despair, increased poverty and unemployment, a lower standard of living, mistrust in government, very little hope for the future, increased exposure to out-of-control law enforcement agencies, injustices in our judicial system, replacing hard working employment dollars with crime dollars, illegal drugs and alcoholism, single parent families, unsupervised pre-adults roaming the streets, the lack of morals and ambition, the lack of incentives to get a good education and have a prosperous career, and social deterioration.

We've created a desperate and scared citizenry, and we've allowed many social ills to fester and gain energy. We see wealth and opportunities rise to the top of the social and economic pecking order, where the elite control 95% of the resources. We've created dependency on government assistance programs, and have given racism a rebirth with a new energy and purpose. We spend more resources abroad than we do in our communities and schools. We worry more about foreign affairs than we do about the conditions on Main Street America. We have let "us" down, and now the chickens are coming home to roost. Our passive nature, when it comes to social ills, is now coming back to haunt us. We're the generation that dropped the ball, and now we're paying for it big time.

You are a liar...that's not arguable.

Here are some statistics on SF. I am surprised I love that city. San Francisco CA Crime Rates Statistics
I am only interested in one statistic to be proven at this time...show me the statistic where Black women are 6% of the population and commit 50% of the crimes, as an earlier poster stated.

In my opinion, an armed citizenry is the most effective.
If one takes an honest look at the Wild West, most of it is pure hype. Gunfights in the streets were extremely rare and the idea of rogue cowhands coming to take over a town were fairy tales.

Why?

Because almost every single male had guns and knew how to use them.

As the country goes to attack the Cop mode.............The Cops will go to Donut and coffee mode.................

Why should they risk their asses if they are going to have to worry about getting fragged trying to do their job.

aka they are standing down.

No one cares, startling statistics are one thing but when it comes time to do something about it the money and the interest are just not there.

Money to do what?
For anything that specifically has to do with cleaning up urban centers of poverty. It does not matter what it is for, these places get less of it. Most just want to throw more cops and prisons at the problem but that is getting too expensive also. Cheaper just to ignore the whole mess as usual.
Bullshit. Those places get more of it. Baltimore got over a million dollars just in the Stimulus Package alone. Detroit has been getting federal gov't money for urban renewal and the like for 40 years. The last thing they need is another government program.

if this keeps up through 2016, the democrats will just wipe themselves out and who knows, they may not even know its election night as they keep shooting one another.

This summer is going to be a hard period in American history. Not all cops are dirty, I agree, to assume this is just as unfair as assuming all blacks have to be criminals. But the tendency scares me a lot.

Baltimore got over $1 billion dollars and the public employee unions siphoned off most of the money. They did give the poor $3 million for jobs training so like 2 tenths of 1% of the money.
