If all you read is right wing media you get a story an a dystopian America where in blue states and cities ran by democratic mayors are Mad Max wastelands while red states and cities run by republicans are crime free utopias with streets paved with gold, and every house a mansion with 3 taps on each sink, one for hot water, one for cold water, and the third for champagne. We get moronic postings about places like Chicago and Baltimore from the usual suspects..

So how about the truth....

Violent Crime in Baltimore Plunges After City Ditches Prosecution of Prostitution, Drug Possession, Other Minor Offenses

Decarceral experiment in Baltimore gets results. After a year of foregoing prosecution of certain nonviolent misdemeanor crimes, Baltimore has seen a serious drop in violent crimes and property crimes, too. Baltimore City marks 'historic drop' in homicides for 2023

Baltimore is closing out 2023 with a drop in homicides of almost 21% compared to last year.

Mayor Brandon Scott told 11 News it's oversimplifying to give credit to one group or strategy, saying it wasn't one thing, but a network of strategies that cut homicides from 327 in 2022 to 259 in 2023, as of Friday morning.

  • Fewer than 300: While homicides are down in Baltimore City, shootings involving juveniles are rising compared to 2022. Go by the numbers here.
This marks the first time the city has recorded fewer than 300 homicides since 2014. And, though the mayor doesn't credit any single initiative, he did say the city's Comprehensive Violence Prevention Plan -- which features multi-layered approaches such as a public health approach to violence, community engagement and accountability policies -- has been crucial in reducing homicides and nonfatal shootings.

Maybe between the negros aborting and killing each other off in wholesale lots for so long they have reached a tipping point in Murdermore.

I hope the hispanics move in and replace them further.

Somewhere in that lengthy education process, I'm sure somebody told you the truisim that coincidence does not necessarily indicate causation. As the Mayor said, it was a combination of factors - and it could just be a statistical anomaly.

I blush to say it, but not many "white" people are extremely interested in urban Black-on-Black homicides (other violent crimes). If Baltimore has figured something out, I hope they spread the word.
