The Jimmy Carter Record

it's so funny seeing whining threads about jimmy carter from rightwingnut trolls... cause you know, if anyone points out, that most of our economic problems result from the bush tax cuts, we get some loon inevitably shrieking

boooooooooooooooosh....

at the top of his/her little rightwingnut lungs.

just sayin'

As inept as Jimmy Carter was, the damage was temporary and he did have a lasting peace between Egypt and Israel

The Damage from Bush both home and abroad will last a generation

Bush was guilty of one of the largest foreign policy blunders in US History in his decision to attack Iraq.

Once again, one sees the truly BIZARRE, SCARY disconnect from reality of leftwingers. Bush removed a regime that had warred on no less than four neighboring countries. Saddam's wars caused at least a million deaths on all sides. He made the first gas attack since world war one. He made the first IRBM attack since world war two. He had rape and torture rooms all over his country, and killed around 600,000 iraqi political prisoners. In place of that, Bush set up the second democracy in the middle east, which was also the first arab one.

"Blunder"???? You're out of your mind.

Massive blunder based on lies and faked intelligence The Bush decision to divert the Afghanistan war on terrorism to attack a non-threat resulted in two botched wars and a ten year and counting engagement of our forces

Hussein was an SOB. There are plenty of SOBs in the world. He was contained and not a threat to the US or his neighbors

There was no smoking gun will be a mushroom cloud and we were not treated as liberators

Begin also signed those Accords and I wouldn't label him the worst PM in Israeli history. I give Carter credit for trying to fix Kissinger et al.'s mess, but it stops there. What he did right before was terrible, trying to undermine Begin's power in his talks with Sadat (sound familiar?) and because of JC, America has lost the conservative Israeli bloc's trust for all of eternity. After David I and II, all Israel knows is peace treaties = violence and assassinations. And land loss.

Apparently the current President thinks he can strongarm a two-time PM into coughing up more territory against his will.

I also agree re: Angola. But I blame most of the West for Angola/DRC/etc.'s violence in the 60s-70s. When will the West realize that socialist ideals are only natural following colonialism?

As far as Carter's domestic policies, I can't think of anything that irks me.

You sure that ain't a picture of O.J.?

The mental midget obamabot lemmings show up one at a time, disarmed of facts, arguments, or logic, to disgorge their pissant one-liner remarks which don't even have the saving grace of wit, and then scuttle off under a rock. :lmao:

In an informal survey of 109 professional historians conducted over a three-week period through the History News Network, 98.2 percent assessed the presidency of Mr. Bush to be a failure while 1.8 percent classified it as a success.

Asked to rank the presidency of George W. Bush in comparison to those of the other 41 American presidents, more than 61 percent of the historians concluded that the current presidency is the worst in the nation’s history. Another 35 percent of the historians surveyed rated the Bush presidency in the 31st to 41st category, while only four of the 109 respondents ranked the current presidency as even among the top two-thirds of American administrations.
