    The Hiring of the President
It’s Mitt Romney’s mantra: America needs a leader with strong business credentials. Yet history shows the opposite—private-sector successes flopped in office. Meanwhile, there is one important kind of experience Romney may not have.
Should Mitt Romney win the White House, he’s sure to face a comparable problem, whether it’s the Democrats or the Tea Party die*hards (who have never much cottoned to him) who hold sway on Capitol Hill. Politics and politicians will be the daily essence of his existence. The view from the Oval Office is not the same as the one from the corner office, and this much is certain: it won’t be a bit like Bain.
