David Cameron, pictured with his wife, Samantha, has been replaced as Britain shapes up for Brexit negotiations.

One day, Mr Cameron has plans for August holidays in Balmoral with Queen Elizabeth, the next day removal vans are leaving Downing Street with his family's belongings stowed inside. And his bedroom in the British royal family's Scottish retreat is reassigned to Theresa May.

Not so much weak as ineffective in the present political climate. Who would look up to a man who let Corbyn get to him when he had the perfect put down when Corbyn spelt his own name wrong

So you're saying that the Republicans should grow a pair and find a way to dump Trump?

If the UK voted to remain, the EU, and the main UK political parties, would have continued as usual. The EU would take it as a green light to speed up, "ever closer union".

The people who have legitimate concerns, would still be dismissed as, "mad, swivel-eyed loons". The Brexit referendum is a wake up call governments across Europe, and the European Union.

If they don't listen to the people, engage in reform to build public confidence and bring people along; voters will gravitate to political parties that do speak to their concerns.

I listened to Cameron's speech live the night (here in the USA -- morning in the UK) that he gave it.

My impression is that Cameron is saying "fvck you" to the voters who voted for Brexit.

He quit because he does not want to be tasked with carrying out the will of the majority.

That makes him a typical British aristocrat and scum bag of a person.

The highest power in the democratic world (or whatever you want to call it) is the will of the majority.

Without majority rule the only other option is tyranny.

So the new lady, Theresa May, who is taking over as PM although she also opposed Brexit as any sane person would, is at least reconciled to carrying out the will of the people.

She has also put Boris Johnson in charge of the decoupling with the EU since this is all his fault.

Sounds like a smart lady to me.

Exactly.

There is in fact a silver lining to this cloud of Brexit.

However the UK will now ultimately and probably quickly dissolve and Scotland will become independent while N.Ireland will rejoin The Irish Republic. That's not necessarily bad.

The Scots will need to build up a navy and army of their own. That will cost tax money.

The Irish already have their own independent Defense Forces Ireland.

The English will be forced to spend more tax on welfare for their impoverished peoples at home. Their guns versus butter military budget will need to shrink.

Germany better get their ass in gear and add more tanks and mobile arty to their military budget. The UK and USA can't help them much if Boris decides to roll across Europa.

The American GOP is lost. The election is already lost. The US Senate is probably lost and the House may be lost too. Trump has hijacked the GOP and like Robber Baron Romney and Inept McCain he is un-electable.

After 4 years of Hillary the only hope for the GOP is that Paul Ryan will be ready to run against her.

That will then be a very close election.

With the American voters being as fickle as they are, Ryan stands a good chance of winning in 2020.

And if you go back to the weeks after the last general election you will find him saying that he would not see out his second term as he would most probably resign. The leave vote was the catalyst he needed to bring about his leaving as he knew he had run his course

Not that simple as the treaties make it harder for the other nations to leave the union than it does for England to remove them. The Scots had their vote and chose to stay, so that is that and they cant do a thing. If they want a second referendum then they will have to go to the palace of Westminster and beg for one while also waving the money needed to put on the referendum as we wont pay. Northern Ireland has seen the state of the south and dont want to see their economy destroyed and the cost of living rising 1000% in the process. In the north rent for a standard 3 bedroom house is around £500 PCM, the same in the south is standing at £40000 PCM. A pint of Guiness in the north costs £3 in the south £9, a loaf of bread £1 compared to £3.

The English wont have the massive welfare bills of Scotland and Ireland to contend with so the costs will drop, as will the cost of the military bases in Scotland that happen to be the countries biggest employer. The cost of alcohol abuse will be met by the two nations and not by Britain as they are now, and the Scots will lose their free prescriptions, free education and free health care.

Only a complete idiot would give up all this just to spite England, and Scotland is ruled by complete idiots.

Scotland is gone.

It's just a matter of time.

They will have a second referendum, and this time, they will vote to go.

That's what the English have chosen.

And just who will fund this second referendum at a cost of £5 million or more. How will they raise the taxes needed to set up a brand new nation when Britain takes back all that it paid for the day the results are in. Cut of all funding from the very second and make 50,000 Scots unemployed when the nuclear sub base and nuclear power stations are closed for good. The Scots dont have a clus as to what it will mean to be a stand alone nation, and are prepared to be ruled by foriegn politicians in Brussels because they dont want to be ruled by Scots politicians in London

That was the price I paid only last year when I went there for a fishing festival, the previous week it was in Eniskellen. Many in the South want to move to Britain because the cost of housing and food is so much cheaper and the job prospects are greater. Any moron can pull up a web site that is fed by the public and pass it of as fact, and this is what you and monte seem to do all the time. The North does not want to be part of the South and the South want out of the EU, that is the word on the street in both parts of Ireland
