Thank You, Mitch, Thank You Very Much

To force an action (either party) that will have no effect on a given circumstance is mere vanity.
Of course, this is false. Limiting magazines, limiting access, universal background checks, banning some or all guns, written and proficiency testing... these things would all make a difference. how can you sit there with a straight face and make the absurd claim that any of these would make NO difference? Of course they would.

Then why to date have they not?

surely youre not serious ?

holeeeeeeeeeeeeee crap.

How could you possibly know the truth of this? You could not, nor could you ever argue such an absurd idea. The idea that they HAVE made a difference, however, is easy to argue . Have murder laws also made, "no difference"? How about, speed limits? I mean, people still speed!

the mass killers... why aren't they ALL using fully automatic weapons? What, they must just like the "novelty" of pulling the trigger a lot of times...right? Why aren't more of them using grenades, or C4? Why no bazookas?

See, no discussion can even be had with person like you on this topic. which, of course is the point of the intractable stance you have taken.

Do you really think more laws will make a difference?
It's kind of hard to have an honest, rational, adult discussion with a bunch of irrational little babies who think conceding even one iota of the opposition's point means giving in.
People are sick of getting fucked playing 'just the tip'. People have seen government creep time and time again. It does no good to relent 'an iota' because an iota is never, an iota enough. The next round of legislators will want more and more concession until eventually the right will be a shadow of it's former self. Look at the Fourth Amendment and it's Exclusionary Rule for example. My God, between the Cold War, the War on Drugs and the War on Terror legislators have managed to erode it down till it is just a joke. The Fourth is not alone either. It is jut one of the worst examples of the erosion of the Bill of Rights. This is not a left right thing either. This is straight up hard core, tag team, DP shit. People are sick of it.

While that may be true to different degrees at different times, to reject any sane discussion of any adjustments to our laws using that boilerplate talking point is hamhanded and is the height of intellectual laziness.
What NEW law would have prevented the Florida shootings? The current laws would have if they had been followed. Meanwhile the left keeps letting murderers and people that violently use firearms out of jail and giving them minor sentences.

What NEW law would have prevented the Florida shootings?
I am not buying into this charlatan's trick (though I do have an answer at hand to your question, but i'll reserve it for someone else). we've been trying to have this discussion for 20 years, about many, many shootings and many, many different actions and laws.. Go find someone weaker of mind to play our message board parlor games with you.

So you're upset that the senate isn't going to violate the constitution?

So, you're upset that someone is going to take away your guns, once they find out about your background? What did you do? Assault? Tortured animals? Raped prisoners while in the service? What?

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) just thumbed his nose at the students and parents of the victims in the mass murder at the Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Mitch is choosing to shelve gun bills, and instead focus all his attention on banking reform.

McConnell, as a Republican, is a well established lapdog of corporate America, and especially in the hip-pocket of banking COEs. Knowing it is his and the rest of the GOP’s obligation to protect crooks in the banking industry and the thieves on Wall Street, the Republican minority fought the Democrats and President Obama as they tried to prevent the Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act from becoming law in 2010.

Now that they have the idiot Trump in the White House, Mitch and the rest of his Republican servants-to-the-fat-cats wants to unleash another round of shady home foreclosures, bank failures, and also, free the Wall Street criminals to once again, screw small investors at will.

Inevitably, the bill for the Republicans’ service to the fat cats and for the economic crises their conservative policies will cause will be up to the middle and lower income taxpayers to pay.

But, in his rush to hand the super-rich ever more taxpayer cash, Mitch and his merry band of GOP miscreants will further enrage a yet unknown number of millions of U.S. high school students. Students who will be eligible to vote in the 2018 mid-term elections.

Of course, Mitch sent his thoughts and prayers to the families of the dead children murdered at the Stoneman Douglas High School, it was the least he could do. And no one can dispute the fact that conservatives always do the least they can for children no longer in the womb.

But, this time Mitch is going to fuel the anger of these young voters. His old, mushy, and forgetful brain doesn’t realize, he isn’t dealing with adults with incredibly short memories when it comes gun violence, not this time.

Mitch, by completely ignoring these millions of young people, will motivate them to become even more aggressive in their efforts to bring about gun control regulations. And, since the kids are not as stupid and brainwashed as the old, white, male Republican voting base, they will see to it the Democrats take control of congress.

Because of his overwhelming need to serve the fat cats over the needs of all Americans, Democrats, liberals, and progressives nationwide all want to say, “Thank you, Mitch, thank you very much.” Due to politicians like you, the 2018 mid-terms are looking more and more promising every day.

As always, thoughtful comments are welcome. Unfortunately, the conservatives remain either unaware or will deny their individual response to this thread is their typical nonsense consisting of denial, alternate facts, and/or off-topic silliness. (e.g. non-sequiturs, ratings, transference, deflection, memes, etc.). Their mindless prattle is expected by people of reason, who also realize it is a waste of time to offer the conservatives any reply.
